Best no kill mouse trap ever. Easy to setup, catch and release. Highly recommended. Worked immediately.I used it with peanut butter. This is the better mouse trap.

Update, after catching first mouse within hours, at least one other mouse kept going for a week. My son saw it go into my room a day before I felt it run across my feet. haha. I moved one of the traps to my room, but caught no mice. My son asked to call an exterminator after a mouce ran onto his bed and was later spotted on top of the kitchen trash can. We repositioned our few traps to have one along the hallway wall leading back to our rooms, and son put the other two in what he thought were better spots in the kitchen and his room after replacing the old apple pieces with fresh lettuce pieces. I also placed an order for a 12-pack of sticky traps and decided it would just be up to God whether the mouse (or 2 remaining mice) got one of the dozen sticky traps or one of the few friendlier traps. Then a few moments later, the last or next to last mouse ran into the kitchen trap.So... if the mice elude the traps for awhile, try repositioning them, order a more painful trap, say an Our Father, then cancel the sticky trap order after the mouse runs into the merciful trap.We ordered two 2-packs and paid a few dollars for same day delivery after my son saw a couple of rats run along his wall. (They were just lost and confused or they'd have been in the kitchen. :) I think all the lawnmowing and hedge trimming nearby scared them into our building.) We happened to have a couple of apples, and Google said rats like plants nuts and fruit, so we cut up a few small pieces of apple to place into the traps. If the apple chunk is big enough to set off the trap itself, just cut it in half a time or two until it can sit in the trap without setting it off. Since we were confident that the rats would most likely stay running along the baseboard looking for ways out, we set a pair of traps in one corner and a pair of traps in the other corner of the room looking down the walls. The idea was to be able to catch a rat whether it was running clockwise or cuonter-clockwise along the walls. We placed the traps at around 10pm and my sun woke me up before sunrise to let me know that one of the traps had caught a rat. He also informed me that he had already released it out at a park a few blocks away where it was least likely to bother anyone. He said the trap was full of rat crap though because the rat had been terrified, so he dropped the empty soiled trap in a trash can on his way back. The traps are inexpensive enough to consider disposable rather than play with rat crap. He promptly moved one of the empty traps to where that trap had been in hopes of catching the second rat that he saw yesterday. (The last time we saw a rat was before the pandemic, we laid down a couple of traps in his room, and I listened to curious rustling in my closet for a few days. Then that rat from years ago seemed to just disappear like maybe it found its way back outside on its own.)Anyway, we can verify that the traps work. It might help to have them snug against walls or under furniture or some kind of clutter so they blend in with the terrain of the room from the rat's perspective. I'm pretty sure a rat would just look at it suspiciously if you have it sitting out by itself somewhere. :) Also they were gala apple chunks that we put in the traps, not bland or sour, so that might've been something. No ants or other bugs running around, so I'm sure the rats were just lost. Kind of glad the traps are working before the apple chunks have a chance to attract ants from somewhere. :) (Property managers are good with pest control, so it's been years since we briefly saw ants, and my son keeps his room pretty clean nowadays. He's just on the outer corner of the whole building with nice views, but more nature along his walls. :)) Goodluck!

Once we figured out where the little guy was we were able to catch him overnight. I’m so glad we didn’t have to use a kill trap or poison. Humane way to remove the mouse from our house. 😊Easy to set up. Item is well made. One of the traps was slightly touchier than the other. Functions as described & the safety of use was much better than a traditional mouse trap. Would recommend.

This live mouse trap works, but is not my favorite.It is very small, and is designed so the bait used to entice them can be seen and smelled, but cannot be eaten. To a high metabolism, short lived animal, being trapped and without food is a real hardship. I figure if I want to be kind and release them, I should also give them a boost of good nutrients; so they have a chance at survival when released in an unfamiliar environment.I prefer another trap that is 12 inches long and allows the mouse to eat the bait. It is also transparent, so I can easily see if it is occupied. It not only catches tiny mice, but also rats.Good points of this trap - It is inexpensive. It works. And it is easy to release the mice if you gently turn the trap upside down so they are standing on the ceiling before you open it. Then you can just gently tip them out into a wild area far from human residences.

We just got four of these traps today and let me tell you they work great! Three mice in as many hours and it was so easy to move them into a tall trash can until we can move them away from people. No mice are injured and the shape of this trap actually lends itself to keeping them calm. Just small enough to feel cozy, just big enough that they don't appear to feel particularly trapped. I had just about given up all hope on finding a truly humane trap, but this one has definitely delivered! I personally hate killing things, but living in the woods I've been forced to resort to that with mice more than once. I'm hopeful that finding this product will mean I never have to go that route again.We didn't use the recommended peanut butter because we didn't have any to hand, but we do have Lefaber nutriberries for our birds, so we figured we'd give that a shot. Honestly, I think it may actually work a bit better than peanut butter would have. The nutriberries add just enough weight to reduce the tension on the spring plate and this leaves me no doubt that the trap is able to catch even the smallest of mice (perfect for us because our colony appears to be mostly youngsters). It does make it harder to set the traps, so it's best to set the loaded trap down before you set the door, but the mice go bananas for nutriberries. My husband actually just found a fourth mouse caught while I've been typing this! The only downside to using them is that if you have a little pig who just doesn't care and shreds the nutriberries, the pieces can get stuck between flaps and make it so you can't reset the door. I solved this by running the trap under my sink faucet to dislodge the seeds. It does make some fantastic bait and if humane is truly your goal, nutriberries are actually pretty dang healthy for the little guys. If you're gonna evict them from your nice, warm home, it's not a terrible idea to give them a decent meal first.As far as the trap itself, it does feel well constructed. The plastic is a bit thin as others have commented, but after playing with the mechanism it's easy to see that a thicker construction would actually reduce the efficacy of the trap. I would still avoid dropping one of these as I don't think they'd survive much of a fall. I would also not recommend attempting to wedge them in anywhere they don't properly fit as they are likely to crack under pressure. That being said, for what they are, what they do, and how effective they've shown themselves to be in just the few hours I've had them out, they are a fantastic product and well priced. I'll update my review if I run into any issues, but I currently see myself buying more than the four I've started with.
