GReat quality product - wonderful for lung, reflux etc
This exact product - was shown to us and recommended by our doctor (mayo) to help with my โissuesโ. She wanted a full length wedge, as she said people tend to slide down off of pillow wedges. So we ordered a set of these for our queen size bed. The quality is great - they fit and perform perfectly. They did exactly what theyโre supposed to do. I definitely slept better almost the first night. I will warn you - they take some getting used to. Give it a few weeks. We did run into one problem - my husband tends to have some edema (ankles and feet) - and these wedges made that significantly worse. The solution for that was for him to sleep with a pillow under his feet. Here are notes re our set-up experience. We have a traditional cherry bed frame - and were using a box spring under our mattress. A) i COULD have put these wedges between the box spring and the mattress - but that made the bed too high for us. B) thus, i removed the box spring - this then required bed โslatsโ for the frame. I measured the frame width and length and determined the width minus 1/3 inch. (This would give me slats i could lay into the frame, but still wide enough to stay on the frame, even with weight which can cause slight bowing). Home Depot etc - tell the โpersonโ in lumber you need bed slats. In most cases theyโll recommend the boards to use - likely 4-6 inch wide by 1/2in thick. Youโll need sufficient boards to not quite fill the length of your bed. (Not to tight a fit - but close.) Give the rep your width measurement - theyโll cut - and youโre on your way home. BUT while you are there - buy a basic plastic โtarpโ (brown is nice) C) Once home, lay your slats in place. Then lay in your tarp. Staple gun or tac your tarp in place on one side - then cut to fit the rest (this will protect your new wedges and/or your mattress from rubbing tears against the wood). Lay in your wedges - put the mattress in place - youโre done.

Avana Does the Job it Says it Does
My order got to me quickly. Everything looked very clean when I unrolled the two queen sides that I received. My first thought was, "And, I paid what for these?" They didn't seem substantial out of the box. However, sleeping on the under mattress has definitely proved their worth. I put the Avana between my box springs and mattress. The first night was rough because I had never slept on an incline before. But within three days, the Avana became very comfortable to me. This is not because it got softer, but because I got used to the new sleeping setup. Speaking of softer, it has not softened my mattress at all; in fact, it feels just a bit firmer. The Avana at 5" raises your entire bed quite a bit--and I'm short. While it isn't ideal for shorter-statured people, such as myself, it IS IDEAL for the purpose I bought it for--I am feeling so much better than I was!!! The Avana really works. My stomach issues are not over completely, but I've actually gotten up in the mornings feeling normal to almost normal again. The under mattress is pretty much a godsend. Sleeping on my own pillows as usual again has been a slice of heaven. I am definitely a total fan of this concept. Wedges don't provide the gentle slope or the length across your bed that this product does. The Avana keeps you honest. :) It really has made life easier for me. If you are suffering from GERD or sinus issues, I can't recommend this product enough. It's a great inexpensive substitute for an adjustable mattress if you'd like to save money--although it only has one setting, which happens to be great.

Works but your mattress will slide
I've used this for quite a while now and it helps with sleep apnea, but does not cause lower back pain like using a wedge pillow does. The stress on my lower back is mitigated by my thick memory foam mattress and topper. Unfortunately with a deep mattress this foam is exposed from your mattress cover and sheets. I didn't worry until my uncle died and I took on his cat who enjoys tearing it up. I recommend they sell a cover for the wedge so it isn't so much fun for cats to destroy with a non-slio top surface. My mattress slides about 5 inches away from the headboard pretty quickly on this thing. Moving it back in position is a lot of extra effort I won't be able to do in my golden years. Great price, wonderful product but needs a anti slip cover so the mattress doesn't slide and the cat doesn't just love scratching at the foam. It has retained it's shape over years but I am not particularly heavy.

High bed
If you have a thick mattress, it really makes the bed high. Bought it specifically for my husband who has breathing problems. He said it helps tremendously.

Well made, worth the money
Iโm so happy with this wedge. It was easy to put on, I decided to put it on top of the mattress but under the foam topper. It made the bed feel a little bit softer which is what was needed because I had been wishing for the best bed to be a bit softer. The mattress protector fit over everything, I donโt have a box spring just a 14โ mattress. I laid on it and the angle was perfect, I worried that it would be difficult to get used to but it feels just right and should really help us with gerd which we both suffer from. It arrived very quickly and had no odor, Iโm very happy that it is made in America, no toxic fumes. Donโt hesitate if you are on the fence Made in America

A Tremendous Help for Vertigo Sufferers! ๐
My wife suffers from vertigo spells; when turning over in bed the room starts spinning. After a bit of research, we found recommendations to sleep with one's head elevated. We tried it out using a couple of pillows to raise the head end of the bed. Well that did work, so we started looking for something a bit more permanent. We found the Avana Mattress Elevator and decided to give it a try. The biggest decision we had was whether to go with the 7" or the 5" size. After reading review after review for both of them and also measuring the rise we got from the pillows, we decided to go with the 5" mattress. I am not so sure we shouldn't have chosen the 7". The reasoning is with the pillows the rise was from the waist to one's head. With the 5" mattress elevator, the rise is from your feet all the way up to your head. So this didn't make my fiance feel quite as elevated (head above waist) and she still uses two pillows. Thankfully though, she has not had one spell of vertigo since we have been sleeping on it. I have not had any problems getting adjusted to it. It feels fine to me. Thanks! ๐๐ UPDATED 2/21/2020: We have slept using the Avana mattress elevator for quite some time now. My wife has not had one single vertigo episode since we put it on the mattress. I don't think I snore quite as much as I used to either. We are so glad we purchased the Avana mattress elevator. I highly recommend you give it a try โญโญโญโญโญ - Thanks!

Recommended by Cardiologist
I have POTS and was waking up feeling sick every morning. My cardiologist recommended getting an incline for my mattress. It really works! My GERD symptoms have vanished as well. I hardly notice it while laying down. I sleep really well with it.

The edges will turn yellow quickly
The edges around the mattress wedge turned yellow within a few weeks of use. Had to look it up and seems to be some sort of oxidation. It happened on all edges, even the ones not in direct sunlight. Pretty nasty looking, and now I will need to look into purchasing a sheet cover for it, which is like $65 from this same company. Besides those cosmetic issues (which are pretty gross looking) the wedge is pretty nice and useful.

Perfect
This helped with my GERD and my husband hasn't snored since we've been sleeping on it. Liked it so much bought a second one for our bed at the lake. Didn't find it difficult to get used to sleeping on in the least. Also helped improve the bags under my eyes...bonus! Would recommend :)

Good product
Paid more than I wanted to pay but it has been worth it. The mattress elevator works as described. Putting bricks under one of bed was causing strain to the timber structure but this mattress elevator solved problem without stressing the bed frame. I sleep well and I recommend the product to anyone else who needs end of bed elevated.

Exactly as described and works great.
Very happy with purchase - item arrived efficiently and once the two pieces were fully opened and expanded, easy to put on the bed under the mattress to give it a small degree of anti-GERD lift. Works great. Did not purchase the cover as did not feel we needed it.

Works under heavy mattress
Perfect size and comes in 2 pieces. I have it under our mattress so the foam isnโt a problem. Very firm and just the right height at 5โ. Took a little getting used to. Helps with sinus and congestion.

I like it. Don't expect it to be a panacea.
I sleep extremely well with this mattress elevator. Seemingly better than before. I'm young, I don't have any issues really other than difficulties sleeping. The 5" slight incline (which feels like a lot) seems to help. But perhaps it's just because it's novel and I happen to find comfort in the incline. The science of sleeping on an incline is basically non-existant, which is tragic. It's also very soft. Too soft. It reduced the firmness of my foam mattress, unfortunately.
