Numbs the pain long enough to sleep
It's slower acting than a liquid version but lasts longer. Because it's a gel it can lodge itself into a cavity for longer. Good for pain relief before going to an emergency dental appointment. When combined with Advil Dual Action pills will numb the pain long enough to get some sleep instead of suddenly waking up in the middle of night with tooth pain.

IF YOU’RE READING THIS IT’S NOT TOO LATE…
Broken tooth? Root Canal needed? Broken Crown? This stuff is the closest you’ll get to clove oil! Clove oil may work wonders but it’s hard to find pure unadulterated clove oil and diluted as well. Trust me when I say this it MUST be diluted or you’ll burn your mouth. This kept me at peace for THREE DAYS while I waited for my appointment. I don’t know about you but that’s amazing when each second feels like it’s ticking backwards. The taste may not be the best but the targeted pain relief is WONDERFUL! I do recommend using fresh, clean q-tips to apply similarly how the dentist does. 2 Q-tips to provide coverage on each side in one go. Be careful it WILL numb your tongue so try to keep it targeted to the area needed. I will admit I used this during the day and afternoon. It wasn’t just “for night” for me…and the truth is this worked better than any of the other orajel items because I purchased ALL of them! I was so desperate for relief. If you’re reading this AVOID the Orajel Mouthwash. It does nothing to help the pain and in fact only flares it up. Don’t believe me then try for yourself or read the ingredients on the back. This one is a gel that goes perfectly on a q-tip. Very easy to use and a little goes a long way. The numbing starts almost instantly. It lasts for enough time for you to forget about counting the seconds in misery. TLDR; This is the ONLY Orajel product you should buy if you’re in extreme tooth pain. I recommend pairing this with a diluted Clove Oil and rotating out. This will stop the pain!
