Panduit DCT Heavy-Duty Steel Duct Cutting Tool

I've been using the Panduit DCT Heavy-Duty Steel Duct Cutting Tool for several months. It has surpassed my performance expectations...great hinge action. It is very well made and has a cutting "canal" or "channel" that provides clean cuts. I've only used it on heavy-duty plastic so far, and I've yet to use it on metal Nonetheless, I'm very pleased with it!!

i am a electrician that builds panels for automated machinery. we use panduit in evertything we do. up until now, i have used a chop saw to cut the panduit which is very dangerous and doesn't produce a very clean cut and sometimes chips the panduit. it also produces a nasty plastic smell which can't be good. so i decided to buy this. it has turned out to be a lot better than i expected. it cuts very easily and very clean. good quality(it would be nice if it had rubber handles). it makes my job so much easier. i can cut duct covers right at the site of work. it's small and fits nicely in my tool bag. i love this tool(except for the handles). needs some ergonomics.

Works like a charm! In my job I spend a ton of time cutting Panduit I tried cheaper brands and they didn't work at all.

A great product, although I realize it is very expensive. When use for what it is intended, it will almost last a lifetime though. It was packaged great, and shipped to me even quicker. I would recommend this to others in need of this tool.

The fabrication shop where we build our electrical panels for everything from start/stop stations to refinery control room master panels acquired a couple of these. I will say they will do the job. They do cut the duct fairly easily, and they do leave a nice edge after the cut. They do not allow for precision cuts though. Our guy that cuts the straightest on any equipment still leaves a slight curve in the panduit when cutting with these. Also, they will only give a clean cut when cutting between the fingers of the duct. Precise lengths still require you to break the fingers off, cut down to the backing, and then make the final cut. This particular style of cutter really shines when cutting round plastic objects, but not square.

Great cutters for cutting plastic wire channel. Much better than using a hacksaw.
