A solid game but abit too simple
The fun aspects of this game is the ability to customise your own character hero or heroine, even how they will sound during battle sequence. Many familiar faces, especially if you were an all-time Tales fan like I am and having fun recognizing the characters as they join you in quests. The downside to the game, is that your character's is simple, abit too simple. You mostly travel between three selected places and most of the characters interact in the same village. The quests can become tedious, you will have to pick certain quests to continue the main storyline.Otherwise, graphics are great and follows the recent Tales battle system. Overall an interesting dungeon crawling game.

Fantastic game
This installment has you play as a created character, with a supporting cast comprised of the lead characters of Tales games of old. Unfortunately, this particular one was pre-Vesperia, so no Yuri Lowell. But I digress. This is my second favourite game in the Tales franchise. Would have been the first if it had Yuri and Repede in it. Game play is great, traditional tales real time combat. You can harvest materials and stuff too, which is kinda neat. I fell in love with the game when I realized that the supporting characters were from the old games, though. Getting to play with Stahn, Reid, etc was just amazing. You get a good taste of all their personalities, in one neat little package.Any fans of the Tales game should check this one out. DEFINITELY worth your time. I really wish Namco would localize Radiant Mythology 2 and 3, but they won't. Just like we didn't get the PS3 port of Vesperia, I guess. So play this one while you can before it becomes really hard to find!

Just an average game...
When I first learned about this game I was excited to learn that you could choose your main characters gender and that you got to 'create' how they looked, sadly I was disappointed on both those fronts. It doesn't matter if you choose a male character or a female character as all the other character in the game will refer to the character as male and treat the character like a male no matter which you pick and if your excited about being able to 'create' your character than be ready for the disappointment as there are few choices on how you can make your character look.As for the gameplay, it has a typical dungeon crawler feel to it, in the being of the game you join a guild (a similar feel to an multi=-player online game) and you go on several missions (such has collect as certain amount of one item or deliver something to someone). After a short while this becomes repetitive and sometimes boring. You use a map for to travel everywhere instantly, so there is no real exploration to be had.I would recommend this game to someone who is looking for something that doesn't require to much thought or is looking for something to hold their interest for a short while until the next game they want comes out. It maybe good for short trips or a stress reliever as well.

Another good RPG game
My favorite game genre is RPG, and when I can customize my own character, even better. I also love this game series so had to get this game and try it out. I'm still enjoying the game, though am stuck leveling up, trying to beat the final boss. The game throughout isn't all that hard of a difficulty but the final boss has me stuck, I admit. But soon I hope to overcome the boss and finally see the ending and do the save game plus thing which will be fun.The game was in good condition when I got it and didn't take too long to arrive.I'm playing the second Radiant Mythology game now and since it's not out in English yet, I have a Japanese copy that was given to me by my mother as a present. I'll always be eternally grateful to her for that, among many other things.Anyway, thanks for stocking this game and sending it to me safely. I am sorry that I took so long to review. Nothing's wrong with the game; I just procrastinate.

Great Game
I am a huge fan of Tales of the Abyss for Playstation 2 and this game has Luke and Tear among other bonus characters from other Tales Series games. Luke and Tear are from the timeline from just after Tear teleported them away from the kingdom, when she tried to kill her brother and it caused the hyperresonance, so they haven't really became "Best Buddies" just yet, nor does Luke come equipped with Neblim sword, lol, I thought I'd mention that, because it sure would have been nice if they did use the timeline after Tales of the Abyss for Luke and Tear. But other then that, its a great game with lots of fun missions. Oh, some of the maps can get confusing, but if you hit the select button to enlarge the map display it makes it a whole lot more easier to back track and navigate when you need to !!!

Look elsewhere.
This is one of those games whose creator does not understand what a portable game should be. They geared the game to be played for 5, maybe 10 minutes tops. You take a short quest, all of which have little variance, then you head into the dungeon to complete it. The quests are always the same. Kill a target monster, find an item, find a person, etc. So you take a quest, enter the dungeon, take another, enter the dungeon again, take another..you get the point. You'll be visiting the same dungeon quite a few times before you can take the quest that will take you to a new dungeon. Don't get too excited though, it's just a change in scenery, you'll be doing the same short, repetitive quests. If you're played the game Children of Mana for the Nintendo DS, you've already played this game. It's basically the same thing, albeit with a better combat system and graphics, of course. It's really quite sad, as the game could have been great. Your character even has dynamic armor/weapons, showing whichever armor/weapons they are using. But all is wasted on a substance-less, boring mini-quest romp.I'd recommend giving Star Ocean ( Star Ocean: First Departure )a try instead. It uses 2D sprites instead of 3d models, but it's a similar active combat RPG, except it has a great story with very likable characters, great voice acting and is great fun all the way through. This one, not so much. I strongly recommend you pass on it.
