I've used the machine for the knees for years. Now it's a hip. Works fabulous and very comfortable.

Could be just a little bigger, but it is really good. I imagine you could use it elsewhere on the body by wrapping it around say your ankle or knee. The only downfall is the straps to wrap it on you. A simple design change would make them work better. On both ends there is "male" velcro which sticks to the pad. But this velcro also gets hung up on the strap especially near the ends. It is VERY HARD to remove from the strap. You are almost destroying the strap trying to release it. if there was just a two inch piece of material attached to the strap that the velcro could rest on when not in use, it would save you from this problem. I intend to add something to mine. Also the package states that this pad is only intended to be used on one person. At more than $50.00, I would think that you should be able to use it for a very long time. Perhaps they only state that for the companies who might rent the machine out. But within a family it should work for several people if needed.

I bought one after my hip surgery. Worked awesome. When I was done I made sure all the water was out and stored in a dry place. Couple months later my mother in law had hip surgery, so I loaned it to her. As soon as we turned it on it started leaking everywhere. So I purchased another thinking I did something wrong. Worked great. Again made sure there was no water in it and stored it for about a year. When I pulled it out to use it, again leaking everywhere. I spent way to much money on something that can only be used once. Very, Very poor design. Better off using ice packs.

If you're considering hip surgery without an ice machine because your insurance won't cover the cost do consider buying the Ossur system for yourself. I had hip arthroscopy and using individual ice packs wouldn't have given me enough coverage unless I used 4 big puffy packs, which would've put unwanted pressure on my hip (this pad is surprisingly flat when it's full). Plus there's the constant need to change the individual ice packs and the last thing you want to do is move around after hip surgery. Also, ice packs tend to be too cold for the first 10 minutes then too warm. In contrast, the Ossur machine provides a steady temperature. We actually threw ice packs along with ice cubes in the basin to keep from going through so many ice cubes. (be sure to use heavy duty ice packs; if the gel leaks it will ruin the pad & possibly the machine).Regarding the straps, I used the only one, attaching one end to the outside of the pad & then either sticking the other end to my pants on the opposite hip or sliding the rest of the length under the opposite hip. I couldn't wrap it around me because that would've been a very painful movement.

Purchased this for use with an Issue cold therapy machine. I've used the machine off and on for nearly 1-1/2 years. This particular pad was purchased to get cold therapy for my left hip after total hip replacement surgery in late June of 2020.This review is for the put Cold Rush Cold Therapy Pads (Hip, Left).Size:Overall, not too bad. Unfortunately,I am overweight. That, along with still having swelling around the hip and thigh, this particular product is a bit small for me (5' 10, ~200 lb, 38" -39" waist).Comfort:The pad is flexible; however it may be difficult to sleep with due to the tubing and connection port. Especially if the pad does not properly fit.Miscellaneous:One feature I wish this, as well as the tubing on Issue's knee & shoulder pads had are insulated tubing. Too many times I find wet tubing due to condensation, which results in my getting damp when using.Overall:If you have the correct body measurements, then this item may just be for. If you decide to buy this and enjoy the benefits of cold therapy.

Do not purchase this product. The product material used for the hip pad is cheap. When I received the hip pad, I connected it to my cooling machine. When I turned on the machine, the hip pad shriveled up like a dry leaf and would not lay flat against the hip. On top of that, this product cannot be returned for a refund. You are stuck with a worthless pad that cost a lot of money.
