It looks exactly like the picture. Keep in mind, it looks big in the picture, but it's only a jewelry box. It's well made, the metal parts are aligned properly, it closes flush and latches. The finish was clear and shiny without any scratches or marks, and it looks beautiful. It's not perfect mind you, the clear finish is a little thick and a bit lumpy as if it was sprayed or painted on in one go rather than slowly layered. It would certainly have a better finish if they layered on the clear coat, so I took a star from craftsmanship. However, a mother of pearl lacquer box of this size of this quality is still an exceptional deal at this price, and this is a beautiful box. All in all, the finish isn't horrible; but if perfection is important to you, I doubt you'll find what you're hoping for in this price range.

Purchased as a gift and it was received in perfect condition and is still being enjoyed as such.

My wife bought me this jewelry box as a Christmas gift. I was amazed at the beauty and wonderful workmanship. I was absolutely thrilled!

Not really big enough for all of my big jewelry, the top compartment is a little small and the drawers are pretty small too. But the box is gorgeous, so Imma keep it and put my small stuff in there.

In a fun bit of Christmas kismet, our granddaughter asked for a jewelry box after I'd already ordered this one. When she opened her gift she shrieked with delight! I don't think she expected anything remotely so beautifully crafted. She especially loved the mother-of-pearl inlay birds on the top...once I explained what "mother-of-pearl" actually is (the opalescent inner layer of certain shells) -- I think she thought it was something made by a girl's mother! She loved all the little compartments, and immediately told us where she'd keep which jewelry. A wonderful keepsake present for more refined 11-year-olds. Five Stars.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: Item is beautiful but useless because the top won’t stay on ! Four of the screws that hold the lid on the top were missing ! I found three in the packing box and when I tried to screw them in the would not stay they were stripped . I’m so disappointed. A bad design ? I wanted so much to like this box

It is even more beautiful than pictured, it's absolutely stunning! Wonderful artistry and workmanship. If you're thinking about buying it, think no more! It's totally worth it. And, ladies, if you're buying it for someone else, buy two because you will have to keep it once you hold it in your hands.

The box I ordered came with a defective drawer. It was too tight and ended up with scratches when I opened it. It was supposed to be a gift. With the defects, I decided to keep the box since it's such a beautiful, well made box. Customer service contacted me to get my feedback which I told them about the defective drawer. Immediately, they sent me a new box and told me to keep the defective one! I made it in time to gift it and the recipient was so happy receiving many compliments for the box. Excellent customer service and beautiful box! I've bought other products from them as well. They are equally beautiful. You'll not regret it!
