Just wow. I have seen Albolene for most of my life and assumed it was just like vasoline or aquaphor. (Nothing wrong with either but they are too thick for my face). I would have been afraid to use this when I had younger oilier skin but now my skin in my 40s is sensitive, more mature, dry, and a little breakout prone. I wanted a product to clean my face before bedtime that won’t dry me out and doesn’t have to be rinsed with water, and takes off sunscreen. I have pretty good skin so I don’t wear foundation, just water resistant sunscreen so I need to clean that, sweat, and daily stuff off my face. I tried micellar water and it is good but can dry me out a little. Albolene gets my face completely clean! It only takes a little and yes it is greasy, but it melts into your skin like butter and wipes off great with a soft cloth, it leaves my skin hydrated and soft. It does not clog my pores, cause blackheads or any breakouts. It’s great for my nights that I take a break from tretinoin. It’s simple with just a few ingredients, convenient to scoop into a little travel tub the size of an eye cream container, and is a staple in my skincare collection now. Great price too. It really does eonders for my dry sensitive skin that is starting to show fine lines on my forehead, when my skin gets dry. This cleans my skin, wipes off, and leaves a nice moisture barrier with no breakouts. It removes waterproof eye makeup with no dryness, stinging, or irritation. I have even applied a small amount after cleaning and wiping it off to moisturize my face. It is a little greasy so use a pillowcase that you are ok with some of this maybe getting on, but it’s not a big problem. One of my essential and favorite products now!

I have purchased this item on amazon and elsewhere multiple times, and feel no need to use any other product for the same purpose, as this one always works well. I like that you get so much product for the price, so it always lasts me a while even with daily use. This product costs much less than some products that are specifically marketed as cold creams or butters for makeup removal. You don't need to use much at a time to clean your face, even if using for makeup removal, which I do. I like that this product has no added fragrance and is very gentle on the skin. I massage it into my face and rub my lashes with mascara on them between my fingers with this product and it makes removal of all cosmetics much easier than with just water, wipes and/or face wash. I then use moistened baby wipes to remove the product and cosmetics from my skin, following up with a gentle face wash. After using this product, before following up with face wash, my skin feels moisturized but not greasy. My pores are not left feeling clogged and I do not break out from it. I then use a gentle face wash to remove any extra residue and then apply a facial moisturizer. I have been doing this routine for years and have had no issues with it. When using this product, you don't have to apply as much pressure to remove makeup when following up with a wipe or soft cloth, which is why I mentioned that it makes it much easier. It sort of melts the makeup and makes it easy to pick up. The consistency of this product is similar to vaseline.

I love this stuff! It is my first time using it but I'd been wanting to try it for a long time. I was using my mother's Jergen's cold cream (the pink one) to remove my makeup before washing my face. (I was using baby wipes but then I heard on Instagram from my favorite makeup & skin guru they are actually too harsh for your facial skin, and since my skin was drying out and still breaking out since I am in my late 30s, I figured it was time to start using cold cream). I got the Albolene instead of the Jergens because I wanted to try something different since I wondered if it was the right texture for my skin (it is thick for my already large pores and has a strong fragrance), and because I liked that Albolene didn't have any dyes. Albolene is solid in the jar like the consistency of vaseline, which I wasn't expecting. But it isn't nearly as thick. It melts as soon as it touches your body heat. I love the stuff. It wipes off great, leaves no filmy residue at all. If I wipe it all off and am using it often, I actually feel like I need to follow up with a moisturizer (the same can be said of cold cream for me). Like the label says, it does seem to stave off fine lines and I feel like it fades marks. I like how it can be used as a balm as well as a cleanser. I will use it before washing my face, or after washing my face to get off excess make-up that didn't get off in the shower. I wipe using a tissue/tp or a towel. It hasn't stained my towels. Sometimes I will use it to clean my face even when I haven't worn makeup, just to get the grime off. If I didn't have moisturizer I would totally use this my cheeks and just not wipe it off (or like, wipe it off and then put a little dab on clean skin after rinsing with water). My skin hasn't broken out much since I started using it. And, when I did have a pimple it seemed to heal faster than normal. The only problem is that sometimes it is still hard to get off my mascara without losing an eyelash (or 4, from the rubbing), and it makes my eye blurry (doesn't sting, though). I'd suggest using a liquid eye make-up remover and a q-tip if you have it. Overall, I'd say this is an excellent product. It is a couple of bucks pricier than I'd like, but the tub should last me for 4-6 months. After initially using it in gobs (I was excited) I realized that you don't need to scoop as much out as you would cold cream. You just need a little. It reminds me of Aquafor (you think it's just petroleum jelly but it's not). So when you think about it like that, the price is decent.

This is my go-to makeup remover for quick and easy use. It removes heavy makeup by rubbing the product into your skin and then wiping away with a rag. No need for water or a sink, so you can use this product anywhere. I use dedicated towels/rags because produce is cream/grease based. The product/makeup will permanently stain rags. I would also recommend caution to those with oily skin types; the product tends to leave a heavy feeling on the skin after use that almost has a waterproof/greasy feel. This leaves my skin feeling moisturized, but I think it could be a deterrent to some people.

You get a full 12 oz for about $10 bucks. Inexpensive but effective. First two ingredients are mineral oil and petrolatum. Petroleum jelly and mineral oil to provide the give, the stretch in the mix. Note: if you tend to break out, be careful bc mineral oil may cause breakouts. The trick is to be sure it’s completely washed off, which you should be doing anyway. I use waterproof mascara and this works without irritation to my eyes. Personally I follow up with a gentle cleanser to make sure EVERYTHING is cleansed off the skin. It doesn’t strip your skin and leave it feeling parched or dried out. I think the second cleanse is necessary, primarily bc of the mineral oil. It’s an inexpensive way to get makeup off and skin clean. Definitely recommend and will eventually repurchase but when I say you get a full 12 oz. It’s brimming to the very top of the container. Leaves skin very soft and foundation seems to glide on. Very pleased.

Since the recent new pricing on many of the items that I purchase, I had decided to start looking for cheaper versions or dupes of what I would normally buy. I tend to go for the prestige brands because that’s just me and I just feel like quality is very important to me, especially for my skin. So when my favorite make up remover skyrocketed and extra $13 when it was already 20 some dollars I decided I was not paying that price anymore. So I just got on Amazon and searched makeup remover balm, and this is the one that popped up. It had tons of positive reviews and once I received this product, I will say it’s a huge jar, like this particular makeup remover which I’ve never heard of this brand ever in my life, but this particular makeup remover is very very good. I mean the amount that you get for the price you pay is amazing. I was sold immediately on the size like literally sold once I use this make up remover, which is a solid clear type of balm, and you take it a little bit out and you rub it in your hand and rub it on your face and it turns into like a oil base and you don’t even need to use water, you can just take like one of those make up towels and wipe it off but what I tend to do is I will put the balm in my hand, let it melt 1st, then rub it on my face and take some makeup wipes, and take off the ointment off. I will do that about three times and then I will follow up with a liquid cleanser, so I double cleanse, whenever I wear makeup. I do not take off my eye makeup with this bomb as I use a liquid eye makeup remover for my eyes only. I will continue to repurchase this over and over and over again, so glad I found this. Definitely saving me some money. Wish I had known about this product years ago.

As the products describes itself, it works the same. Its very effective in removing makeup, even the eye makeup. It keeps the skin moisturised afterwards. Better if you wipe with a wet wipe or wet cloth. Not that it doesnt remove without water but the process is smooth woth wet cotton wipes or wet cloth

Regret buying this to remove makeup. Consistency like vaseline balm. Very hard to remove :(
