Microsoft LifeCam Studio for Business with built-in noise cancelling Microphone, Auto-Focus, Light Correction, USB Connectivity, for Microsoft Teams/Zoom,compatible with Windows 8/10/11/Mac

I needed a new USB camera for my big Windows 7 Desktop PC as I work for a company that uses Skype and Google Hangouts a lot, both for video and audio calls. What a difference this HD camera is over my old camera! Very clear, sharp video, no stuttering or color problems, good focus and the HD really makes a difference. Love how the mount is bendable and flexible, you can bend it over the top of a monitor, and I also has a standard screw mount so you can buy a cheap tripod if you want to mount that way. It was very easy to install, I uninstalled my old camera software, plugged in the new LifeCam Studio, the installation process went over the internet and downloaded the software it needed, and installed it. Set up a couple of choices for the camera, and done. Worked immediately with Skype, Google Hangouts, and Microsoft's Software with no adjustments or other changes. Takes still shots too! Hey for $50 you can't beat it.

I was looking for a web cam that I could attach to a tripod. Microsoft's 1080p HD LifeCam has fullfilled this well. The image quality is good and resolution is great. It has a pecular and unusual mount that distinguishes it from most other webcams. I'm actually using it to record photo IDs in custom database software, so this cam has gone to the office. The standard photography tripod mount is part of the mount and the mount is bendable and rubber covered. This little cam will sit on a flat surface and can easily be handheld. The base is the units strength and weakness. It won't clamp to anything without a tripod clamp without resorting to duct tape. Beware that Microsoft has a similar looking version with 720p resolution that does not have the 1/4"x 20 tripod mounting. That one is less expensive and the images on the Amazon site show that it does not have a tripod mount. I bought 2 of those by mistake as the text does not clearly distinguish these two similar looking products. But if your reason, like mine, was having this mount, get the 1080p one.

I bought this LifeCam for Business camera to use instead of the one built into my laptop. The camera definitely has some pros and cons. I don't know if a less expensive camera can do as well or not but I'm satisfied with the product just not at the price. Overall I am satisfied but I recommend doing additional research... might be able to get same/similar quality at a lower price or need to upgrade your search to more professional grade products depending on your needs. Pros: Video quality when lighting is "perfect" is very good Small, lightweight, comes with protective case Can be used with tripod USB cord is decent length Easy install/setup Cons Microphone sound is hollow and "distant" Camera focus is either very good or very bad and takes a long time to adjust Lighting has to be just perfect to get quality image, otherwise very dark Very sensitive to lighting... changing apps with different brightness on the monitor is enough to cause poor image. I suggest ensuring you have focused lighting from behind camera onto you... not overhead as in an office setting. The "mounting" strap ... not sure if this is a pro or a con...might just take getting used to how it works, but it seems like there must be a better way. It works but seems like the design was an afterthought and just borrowed from a different product.

This is the only cam that I have found that literally works with all of the meeting platforms. MS teams, zoom, webex, meeting place and google meet. I have had zero audio or video issues. Set up was automatic and no extra steps required to get it set up for teams. I went through a couple other web cams that didn’t work on teams even the ones that claimed to. I found the Microsoft brand just works seamlessly without issues. The picture and audio seems to be really good. I highly recommend spending a little extra on this model as it will save you some frustration down the road with compatibility I hope this helps someone make an informed decision.

I admit that I am a Logitech fanboy. I use a Logitech C920 webcam and am delighted with it and will continue to use it most of the time. However, the publisher of one of the programs I use urged checking this camera out for particular uses, namely with stop motion video production. So I figured I would try it – and it simply blew my socks off. The Microsoft LifeCam Studio 1080p HD Webcam is simply excellent. If I were given to hyperbole, I’d call it “fantastic” – and mean it. I’m glad I have the Logitech C920 for comparison. And I can sum up the differences between the two easily enough: there aren’t any significant differences in image or audio quality. I like the mount on the Microsoft unit much better because it is more flexible. I can bend the mount and the use the Microsoft webcam on a table for my stop motion work or mount it on a standard tripod screw. You have to download controller software form the Microsoft site (“Microsoft LifeCam Dashboard”). It is less complex and offers fewer controls than the Logitech software, which many people may find more comfortable. I tried it as the input device on several video programs and, for the most part, had no problems. A couple did refuse to acknowledge it as a 1080p device, but others did. I have to do more checking on the problem here. Overall, I wouldn't think twice about recommending the Microsoft LifeCam Studio 1080p HD Webcam, even though I am a Logitech fanboy. Jerry

I'm not one to write a review on everything I buy. However, I felt obligated to do so on this product seeing that there many mixed reviews of this camera working with Windows 10. I read all the reviews about this camera not working on Windows 10 and while the majority of those reviews stated it didn't work, I started to compare those to the reviews that stated it DID work. 99% of the "didn't work" reviews are older reviews; during the early builds of Windows 10. I just received my camera today (March 31, 2020). I'm running the latest version of Window 10 Enterprise, with all of the latest patches and updates. I took the camera out of the package, plugged into a USB port and Windows immediately found the device and installed the drivers. At this point only the audio (mic) functioned correctly. When I tried to access the camera (either using the build in camera app to take a profile picture or using Zoom), I would get an error. A simple reboot and the camera was then fully accessible and functional without issue. I haven't played around with it much, as I got it mainly as a web cam for Zoom conferences, the picture is razor sharp and no delays in image movement.

Update: The camera continually turns itself off. I have to unplug it, plug it back in, and turn it back on in zoom, and then a few minutes later it does the same thing. I've looked for driver and software updates. Microsoft only has dead links on their site for this product. I'm super sad, the video quality was really nice, that just does me no good if the little camera won't stay on. Original review: This is an excellent little web cam. The picture quality is far superior to the "HD 1080p" web cam I ordered and returned prior to getting this one. Couldn't be happier.

it got stuck at the Postal. or they don't have it in stock. It delays and late. I was going to set it up and help my wife to use skype. So we can skype during our separate trip. it was really late and my wife went on the trip without setting up the Webcam. So it was arrive and I install it. it works but it has software and it came in a brown box. I was a little skeptical about the product. it install without any problems. I went do a research and find the desktop Dash Cam Viewer. First I found the software from Microsoft website and download it. Then install the software and it said that it may not work properly because it doesn't support window 10 pro. I install the software anyway then it didn't work. So I uninstall the software and re-install again. Then it works great. I was using it for a chat with my wife on skype couple hours and video is very clear and it works great. I would recommend it to anyone who chat a lot on skype.

Estuve a punto de devolverla porque menciona en algún lado que la calidad es de 720. Pero después de probarla quede muy satisfecho con la calidad de la imagen. Enfoca constantemente. Buena relación precio calidad. Normalmente uso una DSLR 7D pero la Sony en buena posición e iluminación se le llega a acercar.

Camera has a quality construction and gives a very good picture. It is very flexible for positioning which is handy. The auto-focus can be a bit testing if like me you are using it to monitor moving equipment but it works fine with stable images which i guess is what its intended use is. Overall a very good camera.

Item arrived on time. Installed without any issue. Very clear image. Hard to know what more expensive products would offer.
