Q: Does this come with a case?

Yes, it comes with a soft sided case.

Q: So if it isn't a detachable bell, does it still come with a case or not?

It is not a detachable bell but it does come with a nice soft case with good padding. It has a sweet sound when my son plays it.

Q: is the bell detachable, or not? First picture clearly shows a tradition horn, the pictures of the horn in the case show a different instrument???

The bell is not detachable. The picture is not representative of the French horn,or the carrier. However, we are really pleased with the purchase. The first time we bought it it had damage and we had to send it back, the second time we received our order it was a clarinet. The third time we receive the order they raise the price and we had to do with Amazon customer service. Actually, we had to deal with Amazon customer service on all of it. However, the third time we had it at the price we originally purchased it at and it was in great shape as new things should be. So my message to you would be to inspect it and make sure that there are no vent metals or scratches in the French horn. Overall, we are very pleased with the quality and value of this purchase.
