Dutailier Modern Grande Platinum Glider and Ottoman - Espresso & Velvet

I bought this chair for my daughter for her second baby, she had another chair for her three year old that was literally falling apart. My son-in-law said that when he was putting the Dutailer Ultramotion Modern Glider together he could tell that it was well made. I sat in it briefly and it felt very strong, stable, and comfortable. You could pay much less for a chair that will probably be okay, but I feel that this one will hold up and be around for awhile.

We are not large people but we find it useful to have a larger sitting area with this rocker. The wrapped arms is perfect for a mobile baby who kicks and lunges often, very safe. The only issue is the light color may get dirty fast but we lay a light colorful blanket over the bottom and back to krep it pristine. Very quiet and smooth, working great 8 months in so far.

I hemmed and hawed over whether to shell out money for this, right before my son was born. I am so so glad that I did! First, this chair is much nicer than the picture (when does that happen?!). Second it is crazy comfortable and very easy to transition into recline. Considering we now spend hours in this awesome chair, holding our son, it was worth every penny!

I'm very content with this item, it's super soft, comfortable and I love gliding my baby to sleep in it! We will use this chair to read as my son gets older as it's big enough for both of us to fit into for a long time! I put a lot of thought into picking the right glider and it was worth every second and every penny!

This chair is not worth the money. It is a good chair but it should be more comfortable.

I love this chair. I am a new mom, and I am quite large, and this chair fits perfectly and slides without noise.

It looks like it should be really comfortable but it didn't fit me (5'0") at all.The ottoman is about 4-6" shorter than the glider seat, which means your legs slope downward, leaving an uncomfortable arch in your back. I tried to elevate the glider and it felt a little better, but if you're spending this money on a glider set, you don't want to have your ottoman sit on a cardboard box all the time. Personally, I liked the sets where the ottoman is on the same level as the seat, so I didn't like the heigh mismatch. Also, the seat just didn't quite fit me ergonomically and I got up feeling like I had a strain in my lower back. I liked that it had a high back to support the head, but because of the pain it caused in my lower back, it just wasn't right for me.RECLINE: nice that you can recline freely or lock it in place.GLIDE: smooth motion that matches the ottoman. Like the recline you can lock the chair as well.MATERIAL: the velvety finish is nice and softSeems like a good chair but just make sure it's the right fit for you.
