certainly worth the cost

This megaphone is awesome! I hesitated buying it because of some bad reviews but I'm glad I went ahead and did it. I've been annoying my family and neighbours with it for about a week now and it's great! Very, very loud at maximum volume, nice and clear speaker and I love the detachable mic. It also comes with a shoulder strap so you can carry it at your side and still use the mic. The button on the mic can stay turned on so that you don't have to hold it down while speaking. Great for inciting an unruly mob or hollering encouragement at your child on the soccer field. I went with this model as opposed to the rechargeable one because I had concerns about the life of the rechargeable battery as they often blow. It seems solidly constructed and looks pretty cool once you peel off the 'Pyle Pro' stickers. I don't know what those complaining expected for $40 but in my opinion the quality is exceptional for that price. I foresee many years of irritating everyone around me with my Pyle-Pro megaphone.

I bought this for a picket/rally that's next to a major corridor that has a lot of vehicles going by, and what attracted me is how loud this can get, 50 watts is loud for any event where you need to carry your voice. It's also nice to have an audio jack to attach a device to play music too. Pros: Light in weight, even with eight C batteries. Adjustable volume, you'll really project your voice with this. Option of trigger on handle to activate microphone, or detach microphone and push to talk on side of microphone or use locking mechanism to keep microphone on. Includes a shoulder strap. Cons: When releasing finger from trigger or removeable microphone, the microphone is still running hot for a couple of seconds, rather than shutting off immediately. If you use the detachable microphone, be careful not to put it too close to the front of the megaphone, otherwise a loud feedback sound will happen. There's a rubber gasket band on the battery door, be careful it doesn't fall off when open and shutting the door. The battery insertion instructions on the device is confusing. Instead, pull out the plastic sleeve inside the battery chamber, and follow the instructions on the sleeve to insert the C batteries into the sleeve. Eight C batteries can get costly, but it's the necessary battery power to operate such a loud device. To prevent leakage and damage to your device, remove them when not in use.

You perhaps don't need to spend $1,500 on a new burglar alarm system. Buy this very loud bull horn for your home security needs. Most people don't turn on their burglar alarms half the time anyway. Use this horn when you hear something suspicious. It has a police siren option on the slide switch that is super loud and can be heard half a mile away. That will scare away any burglar or intruder. You also can prepare an audio file on your computer sound recorder and download it to a small thumb drive (USB drive) which you plug into the back of the megaphone. Then when you turn it on whatever was recorded on the thumb drive plays through the megaphone, i.e., music, the sound of gun shots, your pre-recorded warning in your own voice or someone else's voice, etc. The megaphone is loud. Install eight good alkaline c-cell batteries in the unit and forget about it for seven years, or the life of these batteries. Then you'll always have this home security device ready for whatever occasion confronts you. If you know someone who lives by themself then this device, set to play the police siren, will be a very good defensive security tool in lieu of a lethal weapon. I'm sure this device works very well for sporting events and for boating use. The microphone can be attached to the back of the megaphone and it comes with a carrying strap. I certainly like the one I bought.

Firstly mine was broken when I received it and I possibly would have returned it for a replacement instead if I had not noticed the terribly quality of the item. The "rubber ring" that goes between the two sealing points for when you open and close it to change batteries to ensure a better seal and the such was in no way held down as it basically was just like placing a rubber band on something and leaving it thus it continually fell off. The overall quality of the product was disturbing as well, even though mine never did work I have owned numerous Megaphones before and with one you do want some amount of durability but with this it was built so cheap that I'm pretty positive if dropped or anything it would chip, crack, and or shatter at the handle as I could squeeze the plastic grip slightly and feel it giving into the pressure. The microphone seemed to be of the same pathetic cheapness and mirrors what I stated above... Lastly the "company" that created this located in New York thats number was in the instructions were very rude and basically had a "it's your problem, I don't give a crap" attitude. Don't buy this, you'll be *very* disappointed.

This works great! Replacing my ANCIENT bullhorn, and this one has some crazy features! It's nice and loud, has the strap, the hand unit, USB, and feels like a quality build. I'll use this for a lot of events, but we actually used it the first time for a kind of public prank around Thanksgiving where we had two full grown men in turkey suits, using this to gobble and refer people to eating more beef. It was incredible. This megaphone put on a nice finishing touch! Pros: Loud Quality Hand Unit Strap for shoulder (couples well with the hand unit) USB Siren Cons: None!

I use this item for work, and I can tell you, people know that I am on my way even if I am still far away! It is great, with good quality, it has traveled transatlantic several times and it’s still in great shape! I love that it is pretty light weight. The sound is good and the material is great for the price, definitely recommend
