Great choice for most people.
I have this on a bike that gets plenty of use, commuting and crap weather riding. I have been through one chain on it and it's still going. The shifting isn't Ultegra by any means and the gaps between gears are quite noticeable in places but it's perfect for me. It's been quite solid and reliable and has the range for my ghetto 1x setup to work really well. I just got another one so I have a spare on hand when I kill it. I'm hoping to get two more chains out of my first one. Good value cassette.

Broke on 3rd ride ( updated great seller)
Bought it less than a Month. 3rd time out riding and one of the gears broke off... hoping this was just a defective piece and waiting for seller’s reply.Update 11/03: seller sent the replacement. Received today the complete COG and I only expected them to send that one broken gear. Excellent communication/service and kudos to them for standing behind their product.

Definitely a great upgrade but finding a rear derailleur can be challenging.
I really liked this cassette but I had a difficult time finding a modern derailleur to work with it and be compatible with my 22 year old shifter.I used an extension piece to mount my derailleur further out to clear the 42T sprocket but I kept having issues with the chain derailing when pedaling backwards. To make it work you need a modern 1:1 SRAM shifter to go with your an old derailleur. You’ll have to Google your exact situation cause it can get tricky. On the plus side I never disliked the lower gearing or had issues with the widely spaced gear ratios.

Not a bad cassette for the money
I wanted to test to see how an 8 Speed 11-40T cassette would work on my older mountain bike. I didn't want to spend a lot on the cassette just in case the project was a failure. I had to purchase a derailleur extender to make the cassette work. For the money, this cassette shifts pretty smoothly in both directions. It is not the quality of a high end Shimano or SRAM, but for what I am doing, it works great. Real easy to install and adjust derailleur to.I have it on a Specialized Hard Rock Comp 2000 frame. with a triple ring crank, 22-34-42. with the chain on the 22T front ring and the 40T rear cog, you can almost climb a wall. I liked this so much I bought the 11-42T for another bike.

Oklahoma gravel approved.
Due to my usual supplier having inventory issues I decided to take the amazon route for this cassette instead of a Microshift I was looking at. This cassette was installed on a 2008 Kona Dew Plus that I had turned into a gravel bike. So far I only have almost 200 miles on it but it's been through rain, mud and a ton of dust and shifts great. I will update if I have any catastrophic failures :P On a side note I have taken it on some technical singletrack and this hub has crap engagement and being a cross country mtb racer I torqued really hard on this thing and it handled it fine. Definitely durable. Legit value for money.

Gives the range of triple crankset. Great!
I added this to my Tern Link D8 folding bike mated with a 47T chainring on the front to handle short, steep hills on my daily commute. For steep, 12% inclines, this combination does the job of a standard 11-28t cassette combined with a triple crank set, but with the simplicity of a 1x8 setup. I did need to change out my rear derailleur to a long cage by sram to accommodate the range. In my case, I did not need to add links to my chain.

Great Upgrade for Hills!
Nice cassette and looks swell too! Don’t have much mileage on it yet, will update only if there’s a quality issue in that regard. If you are upgrading from a smaller cassette be aware you’ll need a derailleur extender to keep the idler from bumping into the larger diameter outer gear. They aren’t expensive and easy to install. Might need a little longer chain as well.

Cheap cassette for light use
Cheap cassette. When it work it was great. Then the 3rd sprocket literally bent. I was able to link home without the use of 2,3 and 4. Maybe light use would be ok but on trail bike no. Also like other have stated you will more then likely need to get a goat link.
