Received in perfect condition, no problems with ordering process
Received in perfect condition, no problems with ordering process. I had some concerns about my 7 year old being able to swing this, and yes, it is heavier than his Easton Aluminum. I had mentioned to him at the start of the season how Louisville sluggers were famous for their quality. Then came the world series, and time after time, he would see the pros get up there, holding their Louisville sluggers. He had to have one. I taught him how to hit with it, check the label, make sure it is up ,and he learned about hitting the sweet spot. He was so proud when he took it to practice, some kids asked "is that a plastic bat" The coaches were a little concerned, until he took batting practice. That bat gave him a level of confidence that was off the charts. Did it sting his hands a few times, yep. But when he made solid contact and he got that solid "crack" and the ball came off that sweet spot like a rocket... it was pure baseball magic, and it is every single time he its it. Some may like the "tink" sound from the aluminum, and may think it is old fashioned. It is old fashioned, but it is also pure baseball legend. Good enough for Mickey Mantle, good enough for Derek Jeter, I would say my boy is keeping some pretty good company. Thanks Louisville slugger. Amazing product.

Very Heavy, a War Club
This is a decent bat at an unbeatable price. However, it is a warclub to get around for a young player. I am giving 4 stars because it can serve a great purpose in helping a young player get stronger, but as far as hitting with it in game situations, it's not too relevant since it is so heavy. Young players don't often need to use a wood bat but if they did, I would recommend something a little more expensive because this is the bottom of the barrel as far as wood quality is concerned. I only say that because it is such a dramatic weight difference from the bats they are allowed to use in games.

Too heavy for my young, inexperienced slugger
My son, 7yo, doesn't play baseball -- but he's interested in the sport. For Christmas, I bought him some balls, a glove and this bat, the 29" Louisville Slugger. I grew up swinging a Louisville Slugger when I was a boy playing baseball with my older brother.Problem is, even though this is the right bat length -- according to the web searches I did -- it's just too heavy for him to comfortably swing with any degree of power and control, even when he chokes up on the bat. My son has a slim build, so a stronger, stockier boy might not be so troubled. After trying this bat out with my son, I've concluded that we'll return to primarily using the two aluminum bats he's already got in the garage. We may keep using this bat just to build up his upper body strength, but for control and a faster swing, an aluminum bat will be better for him.

Nothing like the sound of wood.
The look on my son's face when I gave him this bat for this birthday was simply awesome. The sound of the wooden bat and the feel of a solid hit seemed more natural and authentic. I went to a large sports store and little league bats ranges from $24 up to over $300. I thought, "How ridiculous!" as I bought the $25 DeMartini. It lasted like two games and it had broke. It looked nice for those two games, but he hit farther with the wooden bat. If it breaks I will buy another in a heart beat.

Nice looking Slugger
I hasten to add, I know nothing about baseful and this bat is required as a deterrent to intruders. So, whether 'Louisville Slugger' has another connotation in baseball folklore I don't know. The bat feels good in the hand, though on reflection, maybe a little too long (but then again, I have never played baseball). It looks fine and the various decals on it give the appearance of being 'the business' and I especially like the "Grand Slam" words on the head, which might become prophetic!A couple of test hits with a tennis ball reveals a nice sweet spot, almost reminding me of our own cricket bats.

My kid loved it, and he was even happy when he cracked it!
My 8 year old kept asking for a wooden bat. After doing some shopping I went to my favorite store, Amazon, and picked one up. Well we only used this in batting practice about 10 times before he took one solid swing and we heard a CRACK! Well to an 8 year old he thought he was superman because he cracked a bat. To me it was 30 bucks down the drain, but we still have it as a memento. Luckily they are cheap and I can get another when he asks.

Louisville Slugger Baseball Bat (29 inch)
I actually got this bat to put under the bed in case someone broke into my house.... lol. I don;t know if it will work for that purpose but guess its better than no weapon at all to defend yourself. If I don't use it for that purpose I can always let my great grandson or great granddaughter use it when they get older to play baseball. Either way it seems to be a nice youth bat and very inexpensive compared to what I looked at in the stores here.

Good size
I bought this and the full size. My kids (8&5) and my wife prefer this one. It’s pre treated as well but the adults was not.

and im very happy with it
Its a baseball bat from my childhood, and im very happy with it, however, it looses one star as it came in black and gold, not wood with black writing, a small point but its best to send out whats shown, not what you fancy

Great bat, can't go wrong.
I bought this purely because I remember playing with one at school and thinking it was fun. Brilliant bit of kit to just possess!

Misunderstanding
