My old laptop now has 5GHz WiFi!
WiFi died on my venerable HP laptop (Win 10 Pro). This has proved to be an excellent solution!I had to disable the on-board WiFi in Device Manager as the laptop BIOS didn't have that option. I then downloaded the necessary drivers to my PC (as per the helpful email sent by the seller prior to arrival of the dongle).I then heard this tremendous banging on the front door. This heralded the arrival of the lunatic delivery driver who seems unable to recognise a doorbell. Anyway, after the usual apologies for the disturbance to people in the adjacent 3 parishes, I popped the dongle into a USB port on the laptop and without fuss, everything burst into life and I had, for the first time, 5GHz WiFi on my laptop (it previously only supported 2.4GHz).Everything works well and the speed improvement is noticeable with large file transfers across our home LAN and MESH WiFi.So, other than with the lunatic who does most of our local PRIME deliveries, I am very pleased indeed. Compared with high street prices, this dongle is also excellent value. It's a tad surprising this device isn't PnP (and requires the download of drivers). However, the installation was simple and painless.

Great product - works perfectly
Super-easy to install. With Windows 10 [build 1909] I didn't need to install any drivers first from either the supplied CD or the download link - I just plugged the dingle into an available USB port and within seconds I had a new WiFi network available on my desktop PC.Only one minor bit of configuration was that the initial connexion to the WiFi router was only at 72Mbps so, must have only been on a 2.4GHz band. This was easily resolved by configuring the new Network adapter in Device Manager: in the 'Advanced' tab there is a list item for 'Wireless Mode' which I changed from 'Auto' to 'IEEE 802.11a/n/ac'. Boom! - connexion speed now 433Mbps.If I'd installed the driver first maybe that bit of config wouldn't have been needed... but that settings tweak might just help somebody else. You DO need a router that supports these 5GHz network protocols though, obviously.Once installed, the new WiFi connexion seems to be working perfectly so far - would definitely recommend this if you need a super-quick way of enabling WiFi on a PC :).

Best wifi dongle I've used
This is a modern, fully featured plug and play wifi dongle at a great price. I have used many similar devices through the years, but this proves to be the most stable and hassle free of all. Great signal reception, no disconnection issues, no complains in general. If you are not a fan of blinking LED lights, you can easily cover the tiny little one existent on this dongle with some blue tac or coloured tape.

Unobtrusive, good performance.
Bought this product as, through an agonising process of elimination and frustration, it was clear that there was likely a problem with the Wi-fi card in our Asus laptop.Packaging was very basic but the only real criticism is that there was no download link for drivers although it did come with a mini CD (useless for me as I don’t have an optical drive on the laptop). Not much of a problem - installed DriverEasy and it located updated drivers which I installed manually via Device Manager. Disclosure: I didn’t check what performance was like before installing the updated drivers however it was clear that the laptop default drivers were generic Microsoft ones. The computer identified the Wi-fi adapter as Realtek. Disabled the internal card at the same time.Plugged in, extremely unobtrusive.Anyway, the main thing is that performance is great. Picks up all the networks in the house with good signal strength and speed and we are no longer getting booted off our networks because of a dodgy Wi-fi card.

Gold medal winner!
I have this (which I brought about one year ago) https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07RFNK87W/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 but (after changing to an SSD in my PC base unit) no light comes on the device when plugged in (obviously that it happen), and my PC didnt recognise it. Is it because the driver is needed I asked ? (as I think I didnt need it before and windows just detected it but I could not really remember as it was a long time ago) and if so where can I get it ? The google link dont work (but maybe i didn't open the file correctly). As well I dont have the CD either. So I asked "Can you please help ?" it was working on my PC (however i changed to an SSD) Thanks in advance if you could let me know I said in a message after all this time had passed after buying this cute device. After I got a reply from the company (very quickly)I extracted the file... And it works again (thank you!) Not sure of the problem before... Everything is working now! It's simply splendid that you still support your past customers! 10 stars!

Mixed experience
Used in Uni' Halls and also private Uni' accomodation.Sometimes connects well and speeds are good, but other times is difficult to get a connection. Not sure if it's the adapter or the access points.

Works well
Bought to replace a broken internal Wi-Fi adaptor on a Lenovo laptop. Windows recognised and installed the drivers straight away. Has worked without issue since. Recommended.

Couldn't get this to go faster than wireless N
The wifi usb stick I received only behaved like a wireless N adapter not an AC adapter.I don't know if there is something wrong with it, but I tried doing driver updates, uninstalling and re-installing and nothing made it behave like an AC adapter. I have a 1 year old router and can get nearly 400Mbps doing file transfers in house with other adapters, no such luck with this one I'm getting 150Mbps.As an update....If you look at the pics, you can see it only connects at 150Mbps, my 5 year old laptop was connecting at 300Mbps and the replacement USB Wifi Adapter I ordered connected at 867MbpsI'm guessing all the reviews that say it's ok haven't looked at the speed it connects at!I've noticed some other people have only given it 1 star as well for the same reason.
