Best sound quality Bluetooth portable speakers in the price range by far
I purchased 2 of these and they connected perfectly and with ease to give a a great stereo sound. By far the best sound quality I have come across in portable Bluetooth speakers in this price range. I downloaded the Soundcore App which enabled me to customise the sound settings which made a massive difference. It's heavy for it's size, solidly built but still asthetically pleasing. I am well pleased with this purchase!

Great quality and sound at a sensible price.
This unit proves you don’t have to spend a fortune to get fabulous sound quality from a Bluetooth speaker. I’ve tried all the cheap and cheesy alternatives you get on sale in the supermarket, and are just underwhelming and terrible. This speaker stems the void between overpriced trendy gadgets and the aforementioned garbage. It just works, it sounds great, has plenty of volume and presence for in home use, and doesn’t take up loads of space. Battery life seems very good and the rubbery outer coating and solid form factor makes me confident that it will last.

An Excellent Portable Speaker
This certainly deserves 5 stars, even if the customer can make some improvements by using an Equalizer app to improve either the bass or treble, depending on what you're watching and what you want to get from this speaker. Still, I'll go into more detail on that in just a moment. The speaker itself does have some downsides so it's not all amazing rainbows for the product, but none of them can make this product a bad choice. The Bad notes: - It takes a long time to charge - The BASS button is overdriven - Slightly heavy and large to be classed as easily portable - The Bass by default is slightly underwhelming (But you can fix that) Now these are all genuine bad points to consider when buying this speaker, but all of these points are either pointless as there are ways around it, or not really that much of an issue. But let's move on to the good points. The Soundcore Motion+ speaker has excellent 30w of power, delivering enough sound for small to medium rooms without introducing clipping or artefacts. It is classed as IPX7 rated, which means you're more than safe to use it anywhere you want, as long as it doesn't remain underwater for a long period of time. The Bluetooth connection on this speaker is classed as 5.0, but in simple terms, this speaker will stay connected to your device as long as you remain in the same building as the speaker (excluding a block of flats). It also has a great battery life of up to 12 hours. I know others will say more, but as long as you charge it up after any heavy period of use, you're likely never going to use all 12's worth, and when you charge it, it will stop charging when you get it to 100%. To work around the bass issues, and improve the Treble simultaneously, I recommend downloading the equalizer app by Beat Blend Labs and selecting the Rock preset for great overall sound. You can tweak your profiles how you want depending on the content you're watching. ✪ Would Highly Recommend I hope you have found this review informative in helping you decide whether to buy this product. I also have more reviews on my profile if that interests you.

Good sounding speaker for smaller spaces
Decent little speaker this - especially at just over £50 when it's in the sale. Great sound and easy to use. Battery lasts pretty long. The app to connect to it and change the EQ is great. Very stable. Something I hadn't realised at first is that when the bass boost is switched on, its actually changes the EQ profile on the unit to be the bass boost profile - so it removes whatever custom profile you had set - in turn changing the treble/mid response. Not a massive deal because the unit is voiced pretty well for small spaces in my opinion. It's a speaker that works well in smaller spaces when you don't need it to bang hard - but it can be turned up for sure. I had the bigger one they do (boom something?) with the handle and loved that too but it was too big for casual listening on holiday, so returned and got this. All in all I'm pleased it it - and the price point is bang on. I don't think there's many other speakers at this price that can compete.

Nearly two years on… and still excellent
This little speaker has never let me down. Coming up to two years since purchased and not one issue in all that time. Today the speaker was on at just under half volume for 8 hours straight, still plenty of battery left at the end (again, this is after almost 2 years). Bluetooth connectivity is flawless, instant and easy. The controls on the top of the speaker are easy to press and fairly intuitive, meaning you can just reach over and adjust the volume or skip tracks without looking. Asides from a bit of rain I can’t comment on just how waterproof this speaker is, but a small amount of rain caused no issues. This has been used many times at get togethers with friends and family and has never failed to impress. The quality of the sound is fantastic, and it can get surprisingly loud. There is a bass boost button which noticeably improves bass, however where this speaker really shines is in its mids and highs (top tip - to improve the bass, position the speaker in the corner of a room, it makes a big difference). I have since upgraded to the ‘soundcore motion boom plus 2’ which has monstrous bass in comparison. It is also much larger and far more expensive. As far as value for money goes I believe that this speaker is unbeatable. It’s highly portable, small, sounds fantastic and (having been dropped multiple times over the years) appears to be indestructible. We have other ‘bigger’ brands of Bluetooth speaker in the house and to my ear the ‘motion +’ is easily the best of the bunch.

Solid, well made and excellent value for money!
I read all the reviews first, many of which went into a lot of detail about this speaker. I found this very helpful when deciding what to buy. For far too many years I’ve made do with playing music and my ‘brown noise’ when the neighbours start their gardening etc. directly from my iPad. However, I knew it was time for a speaker and settled on this. I’ve also recently bought Soundcore headphones (over the ear) and have been really pleased with these so I was confident in the brand. This speaker does not disappoint. It was so easy to set up via the app and the sound quality is superb. So much so, as others have suggested, it is worth buying two. I will do that soon so I can try the stereo effect. I would highly recommend Anker Soundcore. I don’t think you can go wrong with any of their products and they represent fantastic value for money. I looked at Sony and Bose, JBL and a cheaper brand but kept returning to the Anker speakers. I’m very pleased with mine and I will be buying more items from Anker in the future. They are solid, high quality, well made items. Thank you.

Almost a 'golden oldie' now but still nothing can match it for the price.
I did a LOT of research on bluetooth speakers before buying the Motion+. I consumed dozens of YouTube videos plus written reviews, made a spreadsheet, and whittled down. And to be honest the Motion+ wasn't even on my radar to begin with - I started by looking at only current/new speakers thinking (wrongly) that newer always equals better. It doesn't. I compared models from JBL, Marshall (not really Marshall - google it), Tribit, Bose, a few others. I compared all the models around the same size/weight, as in 'yes it's portable but you wouldn't want to carry it around with you.' Now, of course it depends what you want. For outdoors/parties you probably want something that goes loud and has good bass, so a Motion Boom Plus is a great choice, but it's big and heavy, and OTT for indoors (unless you hate your neighbours). For hiking there are loads of good small lightweight speakers with high dust protection as well as high water protection. But when it comes to a jack of all trades: hi-fi (ish - within reason!) quality & clarity, reasonably portable, reasonably decent bass, good features, the field is smaller. The Bose Soundlink Flex is very good but it's a mono speaker - most portable speakers are though. I don't like any of the 'tube' type monos, the JBLs and the like, I think they do a great job for outdoors parties though. The Motion+ is stereo and, to me at least, it sounds so very much better for it. The quality and clarity are around the same as the Bose, maybe not quite as good but only noticable in A-B testing, and even then, hardly. But being stereo (2 woofers, 2 tweeters and a passive bass at the rear) is great for indoor listening if clarity is more important than blowing the doors off. But you can take this outside, it's "waterproof" (to IPX7 - look up IP ratings for details, there are various levels of "waterproof"), or into the bathroom or kitchen. And Soundcore's phone app is good with a real 9-band graphic equalisier, and the speaker remembers which setting it's on so you don't need to fire up the app when you want to use the speaker, only if you want to change to a different sound profile or tweak your custom settings. It also has an aux-in port if you want to connect non-bluetooth devices, painless pairing of 2 units (2 of these paired sound really very good) and, well, you can look up the features. Downsides: No dust protection, and that doesn't bother me, but may limit where it can be used outdoors i.e. probably not at the beach. But if you want a mostly outdoor speaker then look elsewhere, maybe a Motion Boom Plus or a JBL, or the Bose if you don't need full fat bass. Finally, how does the old Motion+ stack up to the new Soundcore X600? The X600 is basically a reconfigured Motion+ in a new frock with an extra speaker firing upwards, and uses DSP to give "spatial audio". It's a good sounding speaker (naturally with Motion+ DNA in it) but it's more than twice the price of a Motion+. It's better outdoors than the Motion+ when using the "spatial audio", but again, when it comes to outdoors then you have to consider JBL, Bose and the Motion Boom Plus, and Tribit, and others actually, because clarity is a lot less important. In the house I'd rather have 2 x Motion+ than 1 x X600, and have some spare change. That gives me the freedom to have a speaker downstairs and upstairs, and pair them in TWS when required.

Bad default EQ mars a genuinely excellent little speaker
Far better than it should be at this price. Pros: Very high quality - and clever - audio engineering. I have experienced many premium small speakers, some at several multiples of the price, that don't come anywhere near the quality of this. I am very impressed with the quality of the sound that this thing can produce. It can't really compete with larger speakers, but it does a really good job trying. Anker should be very proud indeed. Surprisingly wide stereo field for such a small speaker; the tweeters are angled outwards which helps a lot. Supports custom on-board EQ, and with a bit of experimentation, a very nice sound can be coaxed out of the speaker. Very well made. Feels weighty and expensive, but still light enough that it is easy to pick up and carry. Solid bluetooth implementation with excellent range and large pairing memory. AptX support ensures decent quality with no noticeable compression artifacts. Packs a punch - the 30W rating is not a joke. Relatively low distortion, though it does get a bit ragged at party volumes. A single speaker will easily fill a small room. Simple waterproof controls on the speaker. Waterproofing actually works! Very good battery life, easily 12 hours+ at the volumes I normally use it at at home. USB-C charge connector is convenient. Is perfectly happy charging while in use, and there is no difference in volume if the charger is connected. Can easily be constantly powered. Cons: Default EQ, and all of the preset EQs in the app, are totally dreadful, and ruin the sound this speaker is capable of making. Single custom EQ in the app. No saving of multiple user-defined presets, and no import/export. Multiband EQ implementation has narrow Q, and not enough bands for really precise adjustment. Custom EQ in app does not show numeric boost/cut values. App looks pretty, but very limited in what it can do or adjust on the speaker. I think Anker have tried to stuff everything for the entire SoundCore range into one app, which ensures they keep it up to date, but makes the app a bit harder to navigate. Makes a pointless signature noise when turning it off and on, which cannot be disabled. No AAC codec support, which means Apple users are limited to SBC, which isn't ideal. Maybe Apple will support AptX one day. Volume adjustment is very coarse - a single press of the volume up button raises the volume a lot. Overall, while it is not flawless, the top notch audio engineering, build quality, and value for money make this winner for me. See the attached custom EQ if you want a decent starter - it's how I like it setup. Obviously your taste may vary.

Excellent produit
Excellent produit. Le son est clair et puissant. Bonnes basses.

An actual, mid-size, STEREO speaker!
It has excellent, stereo sound! It is really important, as most Bluetooth speakers in this price and size range are mono-only. I wonder why Soundcore doesn't advertise that enough in their marketing. You DO NOT need two Bluetooth-paired units to enjoy stereo.

Best audio for it's size! Exceptional battery life! It's a BRICK!
run this speaker on my Galaxy Tab S6 which has a vastly superior Bluetooth circuit to any smartphone I have yet encountered. It is consequently where my master music library is stored. Because there are so many drivers in the Motion+, I let this speaker break in a bit before writing a review. WHAT A SPEAKER! It's pretty much a mini stereo system and has amazingly deep and tight bass, (passive radiator characteristic). The detail and stereo imaging of this speaker are phenomenal! Things do dramatically improve, especially in the bass region over about a week of use. It takes a little time for the center passive radiator to settle in with a little free movement needing to be acquired by use. When it settles in however, the audio is stunning! Only one real complaint: Unlike the Anker Soundcore 2, my previous speaker, the Motion+ DOES NOT reconfigure for 24-bit audio and remains in 16-bit audio even when playing a 24-bit FLAC file. This surprised me as most devices I had previous to this could play in true 24-bit audio. Perhaps a firmware update might resolve this? The battery pack is MASSIVE, 6700 MaH and does indeed play all day long. What is impressive about the Motion+ is how good the audio is, even at very low volumes. There's great bass, and detail, even down low. The steps provided also allow pretty precise control of exact volume in the lower volume areas. Lastly, be advised this Motion+ is a BRICK! It's HEAVY! Because it is however, it sits stable on surfaces lighter speakers just can't. Because it is so heavy, at high volumes you do not get "speaker creep" and no vibrations or rattling. If you want exceptional performance in a small package or are a serious audiophile, the Motion+ is the speaker to have. I have never heard audio performance in a package like this, except maybe on a Bose unit I heard in the past, but this equals or surpasses that even. If you're serious about audio and appreciate high quality reproduction, this is the speaker to have! I HIGHLY recommend this!
