Great radio battery for Baofeng UV 5R.
The battery arrived quickly. It has USB-C charging capability which is very nice. It fits all of my radios well and works great.

Died Randomly and Suddenly (BL-5L Type-C)
Update 7/19: just before I posted this review BTECH offered to send a new battery without an RMA to see if that resolves the issue. I'm bumping to 4 stars for now, if the replacement works correctly it'll go up, hopefully this was a rare dud. Regarding BTECH BL-5L W/Type-C. I have a well loved Mirkit BL-5 3800mAh battery that still works well after 4 years of daily use, but like many of you I wanted Type-C charging. The new battery seemed to work ok, but instead of annunciating "Low Voltage" my radio just suddenly turns off. Over the past 5 weeks since I bought it it will show full charge or 2 bars and then suddenly shut off. Plugging in an Apple Type-C charger it suspiciously charges (green light) in less than an hour, but then will died randomly hours later. I have had it stay on for over a day, but the problem is I just never know when it turns off (no low voltage announcement) and more than once I've tried to key up on a full battery indicator and the radio dies and won't turn on again until I "recharge" the battery. Seems defective to I contacted BTECH and they offered and RMA, but I have to pay shipping so on a bare battery that's a pretty bad deal, especially considering I may receive a battery with the same issue or perhaps even worse.

Good option for a bigger battery
Bigger battery. Fit nice and tight. Gives it a little more body/grip which I like. In theory should be the same quality and durability as the stock tiny bats it comes with. Works with the stock charger. Charged reasonably fast. No complaints.

OK piece of kit
This is a key component of my poor man's mobile. I'm posting this same review for all the other accessories of the build, but not for the radio which I love and reviewed separately. Here's the build: BaoFeng BF-F8HP Nagoya UT-308UV 22-Inch Magnetic Mount VHF/UHF Antenna SMA-Female for AnyTone, BaoFeng, and Yaesu BaoFeng BL-5 12V Battery Eliminator for BF-F8HP and UV-5R Radios Baofeng BF-S112 Two Way Radio Speaker Regarding each part. Love the radio. The antenna is good and comes nicely packaged with all the needed parts. What is really nice is that the antenna, base, and feed lines are all separate pieces. Mix and match however you want. The base magnet is strong. The antenna and feed lines work well. The long feed line is about 10' which is plenty for me. The 12V adapter is also OK. It's a tight fit, but does fit. It's also pretty cheap - so modify it as you will to change connectors, move the input line, etc. Personally, I think feeding the wire gets in the way because it enters at the bottom of the radio. Such is life. Maybe I'll modify this thing to use a dedicated circuit instead of a cigarette lighter socket - and put on a longer power cord while I'm at it. The speaker thing. -hate- This thing almost kills the build. The first time I contacted someone they reported weak audio. I pulled the hand set and spoke directly into the radio and my audio improved. Also, the wire coil is too short and stiff. Wayyyy to short and stiff. You end up pulling the radio around by the wire. You might as well just hold the radio. But.... It turns out that wrapping the power cord of the 12V adapter and the antenna feed line is an OK solution. Anyways, this was a fun experiment but in the end it seems better to just use a handheld as a handheld and to get a real mobile for the car.

Must-Have Upgrade for Any Baofeng User – Massive Battery Life!
If you use a Baofeng radio regularly (especially models like the UV-5R or BF-F8HP), the BTECH BL-5L 3800mAh battery is a game-changer. This battery more than doubles the runtime compared to the standard 1800mAh pack, and it’s one of the best upgrades I’ve made to my radio setup. ✅ Long-Lasting Power: I easily get 2–3 days of moderate use (monitoring, scanning, occasional transmitting) without needing to recharge. It's perfect for camping, road trips, or emergency kits where recharging options are limited. ✅ New verions have USB Charging Port: One of the coolest features—built-in USB charging! No more needing to bring a charging base. I can top it off with a phone charger, power bank, or car USB port. Huge convenience when I’m on the go. ✅ Perfect Fit: Snaps right onto my UV-5R and BF-F8HP without any issues. Feels secure, with no wobble or fit problems. ✅ Adds Some Grip: It’s a bit bulkier (as expected for a higher capacity), but the added size actually improves the feel in the hand. It gives the radio a sturdier, more substantial grip. 📌 Things to know before you buy: Slightly heavier and taller than the stock battery, but totally worth it for the extra capacity. Not all holsters or cases will fit with the larger size, so check if you're using accessories. Final thoughts: If you rely on your Baofeng radio or just want the peace of mind of longer battery life, the BL-5L is a must-have. Reliable, convenient, and affordable. Highly recommended for preppers, hikers, ham operators, or anyone serious about staying connected.

While I have yet to use the battery replacement for my Baofeng UV5R I am already looking forward to having it as a Travel add on to my radio, a must have if you plan on doing any off road trails..

Works like you would expect cheap Chinese made things to work. Would rather a more expensive better made choice but couldn’t find that.
