You use wax on your string. This is for your rail and I am very happy with this product. It goes a long way you just need a small amount.

Can you use this one metal as in a bolt for a bolt action gun

It is probably not a durable enough lubricant for using on a bolt action rifle bolt. The bolt lubricant it's designed for is the rail of a crossbow against the friction of a crossbow bolt (bolt is the name for the arrow a crossbow shoots).
