No. It has not. At least for me they work great

I'm looking to create a very heavy door for my home theater (200-300 lbs). Will something like this work if I use 2 of them?

No. These are pretty light duty. I installed two on a screen door and it holds “slightly”. They do make a heavier version about 3x as big. If you put one near the top, one near the bottom it might hold better.
