Waste of time and money
Big waste of time and money. No instructions, and if you're thinking "gee its just a grease gun what's so hard about it", the hose attachment cannot fit onto the metal tube attachment, ergo when you go to exchange the two parts you find that the flexible hose nut will not fit through the hole in the trigger that the metal tube fits through! Major. Design. Flaw. After bending the slot wider with some tools, and squeezing the hose in, I loaded it with a cartridge and.....nothing! Plunging and pulling the trigger results in absolutely no grease being pushed through. Waste of time and money to reiterate. Pass on this trash and fork over $30 for one that actually works.

Very messy, difficult to load, wasteful execution on an otherwise solid product
I got this as a small grease gun to use as I'm a perpetual renter without a workshop, and it's great for taking with me to the boat ramp and leaving in the back of the truck. It's easy to assemble and works well, when it works at all. The instructions were fairly clear except for the minor line noting how to purge the air out of the grease tube.Once the grease tube is inserted, it's super important to untwist the head of the gun a turn or two and release the plunger. I had it mostly screwed on, then backed it off until I heard air escaping barely, waited for the "hiss" to stop, and then quickly tightened the head of the gun again. After doing this, it worked well, but sometimes I had to rinse and repeat to keep using all the grease from the cartridge (and I never accomplished that).I thought using the Lucas Oil 10682 Marine Grease - 3 oz (Pack of 3) would have been the way to get the best results, but the tubes were not very full to begin with, and also a real pain in the butt to load without spilling everywhere. The tubes are so air tight that just pushing them into the gun caused them to leak and there is really no great way to solve this, as far as I can tell. I (stupidly) ordered more of the same tubes to see if I can pull the plunger and push at the same time in order to insert the tubes without much spillage.Having said all that, the grease gun feels solid, the attachments are good, and it's got a tool and extra tape to seal air leaks. I want to like it, and I'd love to update my review if I can work out the kinks, but right now this is a 3 star product because it's so messy and difficult to use even with Lucas branded grease cartridges.

See the Videos online Before Loading Grease Cartridges
I've used the pistol once since purchasing, and it works. The price was competitive. However, I'm giving only 2 stars for two reasons. First, the instructions for loading a cartridge are entirely useless. I could not get it to pump any grease. I was ready to return it, but finally went online and found a website ([...]) that was quite helpful explaining how to operate the plunger, load the cartridge, and ensure there is no air in the line. Before the video, I wasted an entire cartridge of grease in the process. Secondly, the flex tubing end fittings are too large to fit through the access hole in the handle. So I unscrewed the fitting from the end of the straight tube, attached the flex tube to the straight tube using a threaded coupling ($2.79 at Ace Hardware), and then reattached the fitting to the flex tube, Now I see that I probably could have attached the flex tube to the very end and changed out the plug with the straight tube, but the way I have it now with the coupling gives me more scope, and all of the pieces are now attached to the gun where I can find them.

Out of the box it seems like a relatively well made unit
I bought this to help service my pickup truck and a snowblower, so I didn't need a larger, full sized grease gun because it'll only get occasional use.Out of the box it seems like a relatively well made unit. I did opt to use the flexible hose instead of the rigid tube. It seems to work alright the first few times I used it, although it seemed to get stuck on the zerk fitting after pumping in grease. I chocked this up to being new, but it the problem persists, I would consider a different unit.

I already owned one but wanted another for Lithium Grease. I have owned my other one for 25 years never a problem with it.
