Nice consolation for missing the Skull Kid figure
The media could not be loaded. When it comes to gaming strategy guides, you're either 1 of 3 people. Someone who will use it, someone who collects them, or someone who questions their existence. Me? I'm the first 2.Well, at least I used to be. I really loved collecting and using strategy guides at one point. But after a while they became an expense I had to cut. To be honest, I don't even know where they are right now. My bet would be the endless abyss located in my garage.Anyway, I was a particular fan of Zelda strategy guides (shocker). So when I saw the Collector's Edition Guide for Majora's Mask was available for $20 on here a few weeks before launch, I ordered it. Then I became one of those people. You know, the "I forgot I ordered it" guy. It wasn't my fault. Things got a little crazy up to the launch of the new 3DS and afterwards I got lazy with stuff for a few days. I had every intention of canceling the order but it had slipped my mind due to availability being delayed. So it got here and my awesome wife who understands my affinity for all things Zelda, said to just keep it. Maybe she knew I was still bummed about not being able to get a hold of the Limited Edition Majora's Mask game with the Skull Kid figure. So here it is! I forgot how cool strategy guides were. I seemed to have forgotten they existed. They're from a different time, you know, with the internet at our fingertips. Who really needs to buy a strategy guide when there are dozens of places you can go to on the web to find the same information. But just like the debate of real books vs ebooks, there's something special about strategy guides. When you get stumped on a puzzle or you're missing a collectible, picking up a book and flipping through the pages to find the answer brings out your inner child. It let's you relive moments as a kid when strategy guides were a dire necessity in order to complete a game. Going through the pages and reading random solutions to puzzles reminded me of that. And I was instantly happy with the fact that I had forgotten to cancel it.This Collector's Edition guide is beautiful to look at. It's hardcover but still kind of flimsy. Not a deal breaker, but it's noticeable. I absolutely love the worn look of it and feel it goes great with the game's theme. It also came with a code to redeem a free digital copy of the guide which is beyond great. Also packed in is a sheet of clings. Reusable stickers of sorts of the game's characters and images. A nice little bonus if you know of somewhere to put them.I cannot wait to get deeper in the game and find the need to put the guide to use. I know my gut reaction will be to reach for my phone and quickly find a solution, but I think with the guide in arms reach, I'll excitingly thumb through those pages to find what I seek. One thing's for sure, I will definitely keep my eyes pealed for more Collector's Edition strategy guides.

A Must Buy!
I was already considering getting this to consult while playing the game. But when I discovered they were making a limited edition version of the book I immediately bought it. The book itself is gorgeous! As I am sure you've seen, the front cover is adorned beautifully with gold engraved trimming. The edges of the pages are also in gold trim. You can look at various pictures online to see for yourself. The aesthetics are reason enough to purchase this! Now for the review on the information of the book itself! This book is highly elaborate and goes into fine detail about what to do next. It will allow you to unlock every single thing in the game. 100%. What I love about this guide is the logical and expedient route it takes you through. It wastes absolutely no time and is straight to the point. If you find yourself wanting to explore and deviate a little from the guide to do your own thing that is fine and dandy because if you come across an obstacle or get stuck, the guide has every answer. The book is concise and easy to understand. This was my very 1st run through of the game. I know for a fact that I would not have beaten it all the way though without this book. There are many points in the game where one gets lost and doesn't know what to do next. Or maybe even a boss battle that requires of the player certain knowledge that otherwise probably wouldn't have known. With the Zelda games being very challenging (and at times frustrating), you cannot go wrong buying this. You won't regret it.

great guide but worth the price from the third party sellers?
It is unfortunate that Amazon continues to have issues with this item being in stock, originally the estimated ship date I was given wasn't until the 23rd, but then the sent it to me much earlier along with some other items I ordered.Other than the hardcover and the gold trimmed pages, this special edition does not offer any other bonus material inside the book, like concept art, and such, it's just your typical guide. I paid only $20.99 for this, and now that it is only being offered by third party sellers, I don't think this is worth the prices being asked for it. If you are an avid Zelda collector, I can understand wanting this for collection's sake.now with the internet, I no longer need to pay for physical guidebooks anymore, but with this game I had to have this. It is a very nicely laid out guidebook, lots of colorful picture and detailed maps which I appreciate. My only critique is the layout of the content of the chapters, I think the items/gear and monsters/enemies chapters could have been put after the walkthrough section. That being said, I drug out my Prima guide for the original N64 Majora's Mask, and wow, this guide is a huge improvement, so I think this new guide is a really good one for those who are playing Majoras Mask for the first time on the 3DS.so unless you are DYING to get this guide, wait for Amazon to have it back in stock and buy it at it's regular price.
