Best premade yakgwa on Amazon
It seems impossible to find decent yakgwa on Amazon. I've tried several kinds from different sellers and I always get very stale & hard cookies or cookies that are two weeks from expiring. I've now ordered from this seller 4 times and it's been very consistent so far. Always soft and pleasant taste. It will never be as good as freshly made, but that's ok. These go will with tea or coffee or as a quick snack.

Taste awful
These taste awful. Like wax. Zero flavor, unpleasant texture. Yakgwa are supposed to be a crispy, fried honey biscuit cookie. These are chewy, taste like wax and don't even have honey in them. It's not really the seller's fault. They're just gross.

Yummy!
I saw so many bad reviews on this yakgwa, so I was a bit hesitant to order, but it was cheap enough for me to go for it. Turns out that it's perfectly fine! Some people received them smashed or dried out, but the ones I got were intact and fresh. Also, I think a lot of the complaints stem from those who maybe haven't tried yakgwa before and set up their own expectations and then get disappointed when they're not met (kind of like Narnia readers and Turkish delight, haha). Yakgwa is supposed to be quite chewy, not that sweet, and yes, a bit oily. Personally, I love it. As a Korean, I've had yakgwa all my life, and while this particular brand lacks some of the subtle ginger/cinnamon flavor that I'd expect, the texture is on point, and it is pretty cheap. I'd definitely buy it again.

It's a Korean type of cookie - it's not supposed to be American-sugary-sweet. It's perfect.
I read some reviews that say this cookie isn't a cookie, and that it's not sweet and tastes like flour. I will disagree. It's a Korean cookie made the way it is supposed to be with the ingredients it is supposed to have. It tastes like how it should. It's not meant to taste like it has a pound of sugar in it. It's honey-sweet and it's just like how I remember this cookie should taste.

Blank, Bland, Non-Exisitent Taste
The bag for these felt like what weighed a ton! Lol I’d seen these allot on the YT channel Kim&Liz and wanted to try these so bad like many lol first the two containers for these had to have weighed 4-5lbs it felt like and like Kim&Liz I sprinkled some toasted sesame seeds on the cookie to enhance flavor and the cookie itself is very greasy or oily I guess and also not sweet which for me is a good thing because I try to eat basically no sugar at all but made an exception today to try one and it had 6 grams of sugar with no additional sugars added which is a plus for those concerned about sugar like me. Overall the cookie had no taste in my opinion other than the sesame seeds I added I personally couldn’t taste anything and blew my nose and cleared my throat to make sure I don’t have a cold or something blocking my taste because I could taste everything else today but not this cookie...if anything it seemed a little like cardboard paper kinda taste if that makes sense lol. I’m from Europe and have tried droid from all over the world so I have a very refined palette but absolutely nothing with this cookie. Maybe this is how the cookie taste or just taste to me either way I enjoyed the opportunity to have one but don’t care to have another. I thought it would have a “fried donut” like taste as Kim&Liz said it would taste but mmmm no!

Delicious and soft!
Loved that these were still soft unlike some of the mini ones I’ve bought before (they were likely old honestly). They are really delicious. They do taste greasy so just keep that in mind, still tasty though!

Korean traditional sweet
Sweet - Less obvious sweet taste than usual american snacks or sweets. Sweet enough as Korean snack. Texture - Subtle chewy texture? Goowy and soft at the same time? Hard to precisely describe it. Smell - Almost none This is Korean traditional sweet that lots of Koreans grow up with. Very happy to find this is Amazon as it makes it easier to get it. Would recommend to non-Korean folks who are interested in.

Second time not a good experience
I ordered these cookies before and they were good and soft. The second time they were too hard to even bite. Be careful when ordering from this vendor. Update vendor was kind enough to give a full refund. I would still buy these cookies again if they are like the first time.
