Easy Container Gardens (Pamela Crawford's Container Gardening, Vol.2)

I love the contents of this book - would give that 5 stars. I bought this to replace one I had for several years that I "gifted" to someone. The current printing of the book leaves the pages in the back pulling away from the spine - which I give 1 start. Truly - I'm not hard on pages as I turn them, and these just break off. Hopefully I can return for a replacement.

This book is great for a newbie gardener like myself. The subtitle reads "for anyone who has ever killed a plant" and boy is she right - I've killed four plants. This book however is so simple and to the point she makes it hard for you to kill a plant again. She categorizes plants into a blue and red ribbon categories. Blue ribbon plants are those that are very easy to plant and maintain. Red ones are slightly more difficult. She has detailed instructions with pictures on how to properly pot a plant and how to test for the proper moisture. She also tells you how to find the right fertilizer and potting soil. The back of the book has a simple overview of the most common plant types and tells you quickly how much light or shade they need, how much water they need, and if they attract any types of pest or bugs. All very simple and very helpful.

Got this on a recommendation and could not be happier.Love the layout, the suggestions, the pictures… my only complaint is that it isn’t bigger because I would love to keep reading!

I loved this book! I have a black thumb, and it is very easy to read and I found it very inspiring to try container flower planting instead of regular ground planted yard flowers with detailed explanations and descriptions. I am looking forward to my beautiful container garden this spring!!

The pages keep falling out. Would like to return for a replacement.

The book shows different combinations of flowers which have done well this season. From elaborate to simple…. Shade snd full sun. Also gives helpful pitting information.

This book has some great information for the novice container gardener. Great tips and suggestions. However, the cover came off and the book itself ended up in two pieces making it difficult to hold and use now. Very disappointing!
