It makes a great shift knob if you know what you're doing.
I made a shift knob out of one of these. It was easy to drill with no issues and fits on my shifter snugly.

The real deal
I can't say why it's so cool but I'm telling you, buy an 8 ball. It's solid and has weight and is nice to toss around while on the phone or something. I got mine for a different reason but once that was done i have found its just kind of nice kitch to have around. I like it.

Its an 8 ball!
Its an 8 ball. A hard phenolic resin of some kind, black and highly polished! Regulation sized, 2.5 inch diameter, weighs 6oz. I use it for other than its intended purpose, as a weight, or a know handle etc.

The stand cost more than the ball.
I love billiards. I am a computer technician and work at a computer in a cubicle all day. I bought this as a little knick-knack to keep on my desk. I was going to buy some of those little acrylic "crystal ball stands" to put it on, but I was also buying myself a new Kamui Roku chalk to replace one that I left sitting on a bar table (it was already worn down about 75%), and it dawned on me, that Roku chalk it the perfect stand for this thing. And if I lose this chalk too, or after I go through it (usually a couple years down the road) I already have an extra on on my desk now. I like my little 8-ball/Roku sitting there on my desk, reminding me of where I'm going to take my lunch everyday. That bar and grill with the pool table and sandwich menu. I love billiards. LOL

Que ball
The que ball is heavier than the rest, which is important because heavier ball means more momentum.
