Great product!
In my old car, I always just brought it to a car wash. However, I've recently gotten a new car that I'm obsessed with and want to baby and take absolute care of. I'm worried about the paint getting scratched at a car wash so I'm washing it by hand instead. The money I save is also nice. I'm still new to this and learning about how to use clay and I'm a bit apprehensive about it. Because of that, I'm mostly just using the chenille side, which is great! It's so soft and covers so much surface area. Sadly, my hands are the size of a toddlers so the mitt itself is big on me. Not the mitt's fault. All gloves are big on me. But I'm really pleased with this product so far. It seems well made and durable and works really well at keeping my baby spic and span!

Maxshine Red Chenille Wash Mix with Detailing Clay
The Maxshine Universal Red Chenille Professional Detailing Clay Mitt is a smart addition to any car detailing routine, offering convenience, efficiency, and versatility in a single tool. One side of the mitt is made of plush chenille microfiber strands, which hold a generous amount of soapy water and are effective for covering large surface areas quickly. This makes general car washing faster and more efficient compared to traditional mitts. The chenille material is soft and absorbent, so it glides easily across the paint without scratching, ideal for regular maintenance washes. The standout feature is the integrated clay pad embedded on the opposite side of the mitt. This clay surface works well to lift embedded contaminants like brake dust, grime, and road tar without the need for a separate clay bar. It saves time by combining washing and decontamination in one step. The embedded design ensures the clay pad is secure, allowing you to apply moderate pressure confidently without damaging the mitt or the vehicleโs finish. In between the main cleaning surfaces, mesh panels along the edges add functionality by targeting stubborn marks or isolated spots with a bit more scrubbing power. The mittโs design is also user-friendly. Itโs large enough to cover a lot of area at once (10 x 7.5 inches), yet not bulky, and the elastic cuff helps it stay on the hand securely during use.Overall, this product is ideal for car owners looking to streamline their detailing process without compromising results. It blends gentle cleaning with powerful contaminant removal, making it a great hybrid solution for regular detailing tasks.

It's ok, not superior to traditional clay though.
Overall this is ok, I use the microfiber side to wash the car, rinse off the car, and flip the mitt to the clay side. I tried several different ways and could not get the clay side to work that well. The microfiber side is simple and not hard to get wrong. its the clay side where it falls short. Compared to a clay bar it was easier but only because you're not having to spray, scrub with a small clay piece and repeat that for every single inch of the car. This mitt has much more surface area and since it's already soaking wet it glides easily. But the clay side of the mitt just doesn't lift contaminants like a traditional clay bar would. I've also used different clay replacement type of products and those aren't much better but this mitt was the least effective. I can't say this is perfect, it does lift SOME contaminants but I can't say I would recommend this over a clay bar fully. Maybe do this every wash, it could work but if you're going after a perfect contaminant free paint surface this isn't it. This mitt could be used as maintenance maybe. Price is also just not there but it's not horrible either. Overall 4/5, it's just ok.

A Mixed Experience with the Claying Mitt: Useful but Not Ideal for Every Situation
Detailing a car to a truly smooth, polished finish often involves claying the paint to remove contaminants that regular washing canโt handle. Itโs a process that requires care, the right technique, and patience. I recently tried this claying mitt with that goal in mind, hoping it would make the task easier. The mitt combines a clay-like surface on one side with microfiber cloth fingers on the other, which immediately seemed like a smart conceptโoffering two functions in one tool. However, my experience with it brought some mixed feelings. One clear advantage of the mitt is that it helps reduce the risk of dropping your clay bar during the process, which can be frustrating and costly. Instead of handling a loose piece of clay, the mitt secures the clay material to your hand, which feels more controlled and stable when working over the carโs surface. For light claying jobs, especially if youโre washing and claying at the same time, this dual-function approach has definite appeal. You can use the microfiber side to wash or rinse lightly, then switch to the clay side for tackling spots that need a bit more attention. It offers a convenience that a standalone clay bar or mitt alone doesnโt.That said, the mitt isnโt without its limitations. Itโs noticeably heavier and bulkier than any traditional clay bar Iโve used, which makes it more cumbersome to work with, particularly on a larger surface. If youโre planning to clay an entire car to prepare it for polishing or waxing, this mitt would likely slow you down and tire your hand out faster. Traditional clay bars are lightweight, easy to maneuver, and more forgiving to work with over extended periods. The added weight and thickness of the mitt mean itโs best reserved for smaller, targeted claying jobs or maintenance between more thorough detailing sessions.Another important point is that even when using the mitt, you still need to pay close attention to the application technique. You must use the correct lubricant in the right amount to avoid any risk of scratching or marring the paint. The mitt doesnโt eliminate the fundamental challenges of clayingโit simply changes the handling experience. If youโre not cautious with lubricant, pressure, or frequent rinsing of the mitt surface, you could still cause damage, just as with a traditional clay bar. From a cost perspective, this product feels overpriced when compared to other clay or wash mitts on the market. Itโs roughly two to three times the price of a typical microfiber wash mitt, which many people already have on hand, and significantly more than standalone clay bars. Given that it doesnโt fully replace either productโsince itโs too heavy for full-car claying and more specialized than a general wash mittโthe price point makes it a tougher sell. For someone who clays their car frequently or professionally, the mitt might add some value. But for the average car owner looking for an affordable, effective claying solution, it might not justify the investment. In summary, this claying mitt brings an interesting approach to car detailing by combining washing and claying functions into a single tool. It is convenient for light use and reduces the risk of dropping clay, which can be a hassle. However, its bulk and weight make it less practical for comprehensive claying, and the price is higher than what you might expect for a specialized mitt. For these reasons, Iโd say itโs a decent product with specific uses but not a universal replacement for traditional clay bars or wash mitts. Overall, it earns three stars for its innovative concept and functionality balanced against its practical limitations and cost.

Very good washing mitt
This is a dual purpose mitt but to be honest, I only use the chenille side. I've washed my "on the larger side" md-sized SUV with it twice and it made it so much easier. The chenille is plenty plush and holds the suds from my foam cannon really well. Another reviewer felt it was heavy, which of course is subjective, and I disagree. The liner inside the mitt keeps your hand relatively dry compared to washing with sponges or microfiber towels. I rinse it out well and hang it on the fence to dry. (Note the red dye in chenille does bleed out a bit but that only affects the coloration of the cuff, it has no effect on the use or effectiveness of the mitt. You could launder it first with some old towels.)The clay side is a clever addition that I will likely try in the future as my new car's clear coat needs that level of attention.

A good idea in theory, but this product is a flop.
I am a professional detailer and always looking to up my game. I thought this tool would be a game-changer. My idea was to wash the car as normal with a seperate mitt, then use this mitt to re-lubircate the panel, and use the "clay" side right after to remove contaminants and leave a smooth surface. There are two issues with this product. The first is that it is very large and heavy, making holding (hand in or out of the mitt) far too cumbersome. The mitt is not ergonomic at all. Believe me, you will run into this issue. My thoughts were that since this mitt would be heavy when full of water, that I would have to apply less pressure when holding the mitt to clay the surface, as the weight of itself would be adequate to shear off contaminants. This was incorrect. It is so heavy and slow and inflexible, that the clay process is near impossible. The second issue is that the clay side is absolutely worthless, even after breaking it in. The car was still rough (I had a chance to try this mitt on ~5 cars), and the results were inadequate on all of them. I assumed this would do a better job than the handy clay towel (green), but the results were not even close. The handy clay towel gave me faster, easier, and superior results, at half the cost.Bottom line is, even as a consumer grade product, this wash/clay mitt is not worth it in the slightest. It is impossible to use, the clay media is of poor quality, and the pricepoint is twice what it should be. My advice as a professional is, stick with a two bucket method for washing, and then use a dedicated clay towel or clay bar as your decontamination stage.

Two in one!
I have a similar mitt that's doesn't have the synthetic clay side, as well as a separate Maxshine synthetic clay applicator, but this combination mitt is much, much more convenient. One of my cars hadn't been completely clay cleaned for quite a while, and this mitt made the washing and claying seamless. After cleaning with the chenille side, rotate the mitt on your hand and go at it with the synthetic clay side. You can hear and feel the difference as the synthetic clay take off that invisible grit that can't be removed with just regular cloth. The larger size of the synthetic clay surface on the mitt (vs the separate applicator) gets the the job done more quickly and just as well as using regular clay. After doing the entire car, including the roof, there is no sign of wear on the synthetic clay surface. After cleaning with the clay side, flip the mitt and wipe it down with the chenille side. This is my new goto washing mitt.

Cleans my car faster
The clay mitt really did make the job of washing my car faster. The chenille side got into the slats very easily and as a result less time had to be spent in those areas. And since it made the job of car washing faster, Iโm sure I wont be procrastinating as much in future!
