Stride Rite continues to make great shoes that last for a really long time.
I know Stride Rite shoes are more expensive, but we ALWAYS regret it when we buy cheaper shoes which end up wearing out and breaking and rubbing feet the wrong way. I always buy at least half a size up in Stride Rite and my son can wear them often longer for six months every single day. These shoes were no exception. We liked them, they fit as expected and they are holding up to lots of hard wear.Edit: Maybe for some people six months of wear by a six year old seems like plenty to ruin a pair of shoes, but we are kind of use to Stride Rite shoes lasting longer. For some reason this pair wore out in a little less than six months coming apart in various places. Usually our son wears his Stride Rite shoes until he outgrows them, but we had to replace these before he outgrew them because they were coming apart. For many shoes that would be expected but given how much these shoes cost and that we have a long history of the shoes holding up better, I thought I would note that these were not the best. Still leaving at five stars because in general they are good shoes and did hold up for six months of wear. But for Stride Rite that is a little less than we are used to.

Stride Wrong.....Rited
First, I want to say I REALLY like Stride Rite shoes. Every pair my kids have owned have been rugged, fit perfect, and have never worn out. This pair, which I ordered on April 5th, has already had the stitching come apart at the toe on one of the shoes. By the looks of it, the shoe will last probably one more week. I just sent an email to Stride Rite customer service with a picture this morning to see what they want me to do. Hopefully, they will replace the shoe/shoes. I'll update this review once I hear something.Aside from the stitching. It appears to be a really good shoe. I'm hoping that this was just some bad stitching.UPDATEStride Rite emailed me one day later. Unless I purchased direct from them, they would not fix or return the shoes. No matter. I was still in my 30 day Amazon return window and Amazon exchanged them!So after a couple weeks of heavy soccer, bike riding, and playing, the shoes are holding up great!

Good, quality sneakers for active little guys!
I bought a pair of these for my 3 1/2 year old because all of the other sneakers we would get him from say...Walmart, would just not last at all. How good of a deal is a $12 sneaker that barely lasts a month? Well, I'm happy to say these Stride Rite sneakers can stand up to active toddler abuse! He says they're comfortable and I believe him because he even wears them around the house, like he forgets he's even wearing them. I guess his feet are a little on the chubby side so I went with a wide size and I think it was the right move. So yeah, he's happy, I'm happy, life's good. New Stride Rite fan, even bought another pair for my 1 1/2 yr old.

Favorite shoe by far!
I first bought my son a pair of these shoes in a 5 xw and he is currently wearing them in a size 8.5 w. He wore them in every size in between too. I love the x-wide & wide options that are definitely wide enough for my son's extra chubby flinstone feet. We had a hard time finding shoes wide enough before these lovelies. The rugged construction held up for each pair. I love the style too. They look great with everything, including shorts and a t-shirt & khakis and a nice sweater. I like to shop and I buy my son a lot of shoes, but I must say these are the favorites by far!

Strong, breathable and flexible
The shoes are flexible and breathable with good mesh sides. Much less clunky than some other stride rite shoes I've seen from a different line. They don't light up or have superheroes on the side, so my little guy often overlooks these for some other options in the morning. When they get worn, though, they get the job done on the playground. I'm pretty sure they will hold up enough for our younger son to be wearing them eventually, too.

SRT PS Jasper Sneaker
This is our second pair of this shoe (same size/different color). After 5 month the front seam on the toe split and the rubber part pulled away. However, 2 year olds are hard on shoes and Stride Rites fit him great so they are all we buy right now (he has wide feet). He seems to like them a lot too and they are easy for him to put on and take off by himself. I would recommend.

Nice looking shoes
My son says they are comfortable and he likes them. A big plus is he has no trouble getting them on himself (he is 5) whereas his last shoes, double velcro as in two straps, were too difficult for him. I did notice however after wearing them only twice, the front blue part is already showing scuff marks and wear. For that it gets 4 stars instead of 5.

High quality, durable shoes
This is the second time we ordered these shoes as our son has outgrown the first. These are very high quality, durable shoes that have lasted 6+ months with daily wear and heavy outdoor use on playgrounds and walks. Highly recommend them! They are also easy to put on and take off so our 3/4 year old can do it himself without problems. The toes ended up getting torn up on the first pair, but only after many months of very heavy use.
