Perfect fit for my 99 Silverado
Amazon says that this will not fit my 99 Silverado, but it does and fit Perfectly. Keep in mind that I have the new style 99.The original one that came on the truck did look different, but this style looks more updated. The holes all lined up perfect and was very easy to install. I didn't take a picture of the old one, due to I had removed it and thrown away before ordering this one. I would recommend this if you are looking to replace, or updating the look.

Nice replacement tailgate guard
This piece is rugged and fits great on my HD2500 pickup. The metal fasteners did not fit as snugly as I would like them to but the self stick tape works well. I would prefer metal fasteners that have expansion inserts. The fasteners for a tailgate on a pickup truck should be robust.

Needs better hardware AND INSTRUCTIONS!
Great price and even though it’s abs it looks good. BUT holes in the tailgate had to be filed open to fit the hardware included(which wasn’t perfect for my Chevy 1500 2006 factory bed cap holes)…TAKE YOUR TIME and file the opening a little at a time and then tap the hardware into the tailgate so it fits tight! I put Gorilla glue under the cover as well…THERES NO INSTRUCTIONS!!!!!! Fortunately I’m handy. Could’ve gotten a 5 but for the extra work and lack of support, it’s a 3.5 in my opinion, because I know a lot of people are going to mess this up.

Bought an aftermarket replacement tailgate for a 2000 GMC Sierra that had holes for the tailgate guard that the original guard didn't cover.I saw this guard with the mounting holes, verified the hole spacing matched the tailgate and ordered it.Received it in two days with no damage.To install it, I just used push-in plastic rivets (the type that hold on various plastic panels) and the tape strip and there's no way it will come off.Looks great and matches the side bed top rail caps and looks much better than the original.Good price and no complaints.Would order again.

Bought this three or four months ago shut my tailgate and two of the washers snapped through the plastic pretty brittle after only a couple months not worth the money two out of the four snapped with very little effort
