Our fancy refrigerator hammered every time a toilet flushed in the house. It became one of those sounds that once heard, couldn't be unheard. This Compression Tee Hammer Arrestor quickly made the sound go away. Installation was quick and simple. The hardest part was getting the refrigerator away from the wall. Wish I had installed this years ago.

Easily installed, I removed the copper tubing from the valve and inserted this in between. (The two ends of this device are different, and intended for such inline installation.) So far, no further water hammer. You'd think the contractor who installed our Aprilaire 800 humidifier would care enough to install this, since water hammer is a known issue, but no.

Quality brass a copper construction and stopped the ice maker line from hammer behind and inside the fridge. Easy to install directly to the water shut behind the fridge and I put a new Stainless braided line for added security. #1 water leaks causing a large flood and a lot of damage a cracked plastic ice maker line because it has been hammering for years.

Purchased product to reduce humidifier solenoid noise when closing. The noise was very loud partly because the humidifier unit is installed on the furnace causing an echo. I replaced the solenoid valve first, which did not resolve the hammer noise. This arrestor did the trick. While it has only been 2 days since install, the noise has been reduced and at time non-existent. Well worth the money. Time will tell how long it lasts. For the price and ease of install, I do not mind replacing if needed. I did take off 1 star, since the package arrived unsealed with the compression fittings clearly previously installed and used, along with, wear marks on the nuts. I initially processed an Amazon return, but decided to install it as is, since the noise was too loud. I am glad I kept it.

It was installed under a cabinet attached to water line serving a coffee machine, housing developed a hair line crack after two years.

Easy to install. I mounted it vertically, since I believe most people who find the hammer returning after a few days are getting water into the gas chamber by mounting it horizontally. And that drives out the air in the chamber, eliminating the whole "arrestor" functionality.HOWEVER, where the silver female compression connection contacts the body, it leaks. It simply drips. It's not the compression fitting. It's the body.I assume that means it's a defective product, but how do I deal with that?

This device completely solved the water hammer issue on my humidifier. An important reminder is to be sure that the water hammer arrestor is installed as close to the appliance as possible. The longer the length of water line between the appliance and the arrestor, the less effective it will be.

It worked to stop annoying water hammer caused by the new refrigerator ice maker.

I installed it on my toilet, between the shut of valve and the braided hose going to the tank. Super easy to install and it solved the "knock" when the toilet tank is full and it abruptly shuts off the water.

Whenever my water humidifier on the furnace would kick in, it used to give a loud thump noise in the pipes that could be heard till the 2nd floor. Installed this puppy yesterday on the 1/4 inch copper water inlet next to the humidifier, and no more thumping sound ever since!!It was very easy to setup, start to finish took less than 5 minutes. No special tools needed, just a couple of wrenches will do. Make sure to turn off the water supply before working. Appears to be a good quality product, I just hope this thing lasts!

Purchased to replace an existing arrestor which was failing. Installed easily (fittings matched the plumbing), but it did nothing to help - water hammer was worse than the old unit when the dishwasher ran.

I was looking for a 1/4 OD Water Hammer arrestor. This was the only one available. Despite all negative reviews I purchased it for less than 1/3 price of a new one as this came from the previously used lot. I took the chance because it was inexpensive. I have installed water hammer arrestors throughout the house except my steam machine which was causing a huge noise when in operation. This little gadget has prevented it but not 100%. Nevertheless it is good enough

Worked perfectly for our Aprilaire 800. Stopped the water hammer totally.
