Another solid SafeVant product. Excellent support so far.
I've purchased quite a few of the 4 and 8 channel SafeVant systems with 5MP cameras so far. They are all functioning well, and aside from power surges (lightning in Florida) causing issues with cameras occasionally and one NVR with a faulty power supply, I've had no issues with the cameras. Some people aren't impressed with the Danale mobile app - most of my clients use iPhones - and I agree the app could use some work, however, it is extremely fast, responsive, and friendly to use if you take the time to look at the menus and icons and learn what they do.My clients and I are pleased with the systems overall. Note that I usually upgrade the stock hard drive to the largest size possible immediately, and I rarely use the included cat6 cables due to custom installation locations not always being with the reach of the provided Cat6 cables.Also note, there is no requirement for you to use the cloud service with a monthly fee. If you have the NVR with a hard drive installed, you do NOT need to purchase a cloud backup if you don't need it. You can reach the NVR directly on the desktop or mobile software once you have added the device to your app simply by clicking the "Devices" button at the top of the app instead of the "Cloud" button which will do nothing unless you have paid. It might be a good idea for Danale to set the Devices view as the default for people who connect directly, or to allow us to set it as an option.I recommend this product at its price for value, as do my clients thus far.

Make sure you get what you order.
Picture quality isn't good enough to read licence plates but can easy recognize people fairly up close. I didn't like that I received a 4-channel DVR but Amazon compensated me...you know how it goes. Wasn't super easy to install but easier than non power over Ethernet variants. I struggled getting things mounted due to not having the correct stuff to drill into brick. The first camera has lost its IR after a week or so ... But again I believe that is because I had a hard time mounting it and probably damaged it myself.

Well Worth the Investment
This is the second system I have purchased - different manufacturers (left my old one in a house I sold). The picture quality is awesome. Two things that took this from 5 stars to four:* A bit difficult to set up as the instructions are lacking in detail. Customer service was impossible to get by telephone (always a busy signal) and my emails although answered were in the middle of the night and very broken English with grammar so bad, it was hard to understand.* I wish it had an option to only record when motion is detected (like my old system). It does mark when motion is detected, but the sensitivity is such that even a fly or moth flying by sets it off so especially at night, it basically marks motion all night. It has 5 motion sensitivity settings, but I see no difference between them.Once you stumble through the settings, it does what it is supposed to. I also really like that I can see what's going on from my phone with the app.

Great security system for the money.
This security camera system is just what I needed. Easy to install and use. We had a problem with one of the cables and needed to contact them for a replacement. They were very helpful and had a new cable sent out within a week of the initial email. It has already paid for itself as the police are using the video to apprehend a suspect in a robbery that occurred down the street.

Great Customer Support & Value
Purchased 09.2019. Installation in our Condo's common areas. Set-up at home, then installed on site. Did not keep track of what cameras were connected to each port. Camera views were good. But needed to reboot system to reset the camera positions viewed on the monitor. Contacted customer support (manual is so-so). Quick reply by email (on the weekend). Melody was very helpful - thank you Melody. Planning to order a few additional cameras - to expand the coverage provided by the four existing cameras. One issue is the CAT-5 - round cables are tightly spooled (due to packing), so getting the lay out of the cables takes some patience (which I seldom have).

Great customer service.
The installation was very easy and simple. Once I had a question I called the customer service and email Melody who was great. The only issue I have is trying to link my old cameras with the new ones. I was not able to link my old cameras, but that doesnโt matter anymore. The fact that Melody kept following up with me and trying her very best to help me. I donโt care about the old cameras, Iโll just buy new ones and replace them. Thank you Melody you are awesome.

We use our security camera system to monitor the entrance to our property and surrounding area, it works in connection with a drive way beam monitor alarm and gives us visual of who is entering or leaving. The recorder gives us recorded information of any activity when we are away from home. we can also access it by phone and check to see what is happening. We love it could not do with out it good picture quality.Robert & Robin Stuart

Easy to use, good image
Bought the Safevant NVR camera system on sale to monitor the office remotely from home and for recorded security surveillance. There are a number of good things and some minor issues with this product.I will start with the good points of this system. The hardware is easy to install with simple plug and play with no issues with setup. The image is clear and is adjustable between standard, HD and SHD definitions and the nightvision is very clear and I can make out every detail in the dark. At the time of this review I haven't tested out motion detection just yet so I can't provide any comment on that. For software the NVR itself and Danale APP is easy to setup following the manual and there are options to share the remote viewing with other users if they have the Danale software or app installed on their PC or phone.And now for the issues. The only real problem was when it came to installation of the Danale software for my home PC. The instruction manual mentioned that the package contained a disc for that purpose but I could not find it anywhere. I contacted Safevant directly through their website and I received a response the next day. Their agent Melody was able to direct me to where I could download the software which solved my issue so I can say Tech support is responsive and friendly.One last comment is that while this isn't really a problem per se there are quite a few odd wording choices in the English instruction manual and to a lesser degree the Danale software for PC and the APP. While I understand that the content was translated from another language and It doesn't really impact my understanding of their instructions or prompts, this is something that I hope they will correct in future updates.Overall I am quite satisfied with the Safevant NVR Camera system and as a casual user it does exactly what I need it to do. Great customer service by MELODY AND VERY GOOD POE SET
The customer service great had little issue but MELODY AT customer service did her best to resolve the issue and. I would recommend to buy any product for great customer service. Plus This is great POE set even the app for iPhone work great itโs was easy setup.
