Frame is decent. Headset is crap.
The Bad The headset is horrible. I never could get it to work. So I used older 1 1/8 sealed bearings and just pressed them into the headtube without cups. It is working OK and has a very slight movement when front brakes are applied. I think I am going to order the Cane Creek 40 series. These are designed to have the bearings pressed into the headtube. I am thinking of clear coating the frame as it shows any oils and smudges and it is difficult to get off without a degreaser cleanser. The Good Frame is a decent aluminum frame with a heavy steel fork. Both are of decent quality and, for the price, work well. I had a set of 27.5 MTB wheels just hanging around and used those on this frame. They work perfectly. I am running 2.95 tires and still have room. The tires are tall and look like the frame was made for them.

Great foundation to build upon.
Nice lightweight frame for building a gravel, bikepacking ebike. I added a Tongsheng motor and 5sp Sturmey Archer IGH. Jones bar and suspension seatpost for comfort. Ready for commuting during the week and trails on the weekends. I gave it 4 stars because, like the others, I had to replace the headset bearings. The frame shipped nowith the wrong size.

Motobecane gravel 3 frame with one by deore 5100
Endurance frame. This bike uses a rear mech with a clutch... I have not tried that yet. This bike uses 38mm tubeless set up with a xt rear hub. The hb has rise and back with a solid head and fork set up to do nice street stunts. This bike uses a h. front brake at 160mm and a rear mech. brake with 180 rotor... this bike has a solid chain that does not drop nor bounce and tops off with a 46 t rear microshift trick cassette. This frame might take 45mm tires. It definitely is an endurance heavy solid nice frame... Mine weighs in at 38 lbs. as seen but has a heavy old cafe style shimano hard core hoop... This bike needs new headset bearrings to do stunts but what a sweet company... These guys at this facility are nice and man do they deliver. This was a solid purchase and if you look at the bike... I'm happy doing endos wheelies and many slow fun endurance streety tricks... The tolerances are nice and the bearring housings are ready for upgrade, the rear brake bolts are after the frame and what a sweet company.... SOLID DEAL.... ready for upgrades...

Great frame ruined by the headset
The frame itself is nice. Decent welds, fairly light, takes parts well... Until you get to the headset. The one included never sit properly so I returned it for a replacement - same thing. It turns out, the bearings are slightly un-flush in the cups so they're warped. They simply won't fit snuggly which made the bike unrideable. I just cranked it down and lived with the slight jostle. However it came loose so i ordered an FSA headset and tossed the old cups. Motobecane states how to measure the cup diameter and according to their guide, I ordered a 34mm headset. Wrong- it's way too small. The cups are actually 41.5mm. Long story short I cannot find a normal 1 1/8 headset in 41.5mm size that's not integrated or threaded. The bike is an ornament until I can find a headset. God help you when you need to swap your headset because even if yours fits, the old design will need to be replaced rather quickly. I wanted to love this frame but the headset is essential, and essentially flawed.

A nice frame
i bought the 58cm which is normally my size and it fits me perfectly. One of my bearings for the headset was missing a few balls and in two days, I had received another set. Very good customer service! The frame weighs 4lbs and the fork weighs 3lbs. The fork is on the heavy side and it’s not cromo. The brake mounts are IS. Plan accordingly, this is kind of old tech and I had a difficult time finding flat mount adapters for my hydraulic calipers. The frame is stiff as you might expect from aluminum. There are bosses everywhere and I see enough clearance for 45mm tires. I'm running 40mm with plenty of space. You'll notice head badges on my pictures that I posted, they did not come with the frame. I found them on the bay. Otherwise, the frame has no decals. The frame fits me slightly upright which is exactly what I wanted. I've put quite a few miles on this and it has handled everything without beating me to death, tire pressure being key for a good ride. If your looking for a starter frame for your gravel ride, I think this is a good place to start. It saved me some money so I could get better wheels and a decent hydraulic groupset. Only reason for 4 stars is the heavy non-cromo fork. I’d say for the price, it’s hard to beat and very worthy of 4 stars.
