Effective “nature’s asprin”Most if not all synthetic pharmaceuticals have their origins in something natural, but you can’t patent a plant, so they alter it so they can profit. Seemingly no regard is taken for potential side effects. Big Pharma aside, I started taking this to replace OTC NSAIDs for pain due to endometriosis. It can be debilitating, so I was hopeful, but realistic about this really being able to curb the pain. Well it does. On multiple occasions, I’ve woken up writhing and 2-3 of these and 30 minutes or so later, the pain has been eliminated or greatly decreased.The only negative, as some have mentioned is you can sometimes taste an earthy sort of organy taste after you take it, but I think enough water helps with that.Truly it is a very small price to pay to reduce or eliminate pain and not have to take something that is harming kidneys or liver in the process.Thanks Now!!!

I have put off even trying Willow bark for well over a decade, because I assumed it would be useless and hurt my sensitive stomach. At one point I went eight years without taking anything for pain or illness because it's not natural (I suffered so much due to this!). Now I have tried this very inexpensive supplement and I am stunned - one or two of these (I'm not trying it on an empty stomach, but not taking it "with meals" either) does not hurt my very sensitive stomach at all!!! One removes the pain of severe menstrual cramps, and two makes all muscles in my body numb from pain signals due to pressure (like bumping into something) or overuse (like carrying something for too long). This stuff did fail to address the pain from a pressure/tension headache resulting from an upper respiratory infection. I will try to remember to update my review when I try it against a fever!!! Thank you NOW products - recommended by my local health food expert years ago, NOW is always family owned, meticulously sourced and processed, and insanely affordable (while many, many of the high-dollar brands have been bought out and are now VERY unsafely sourced and processed).

Prior to buying this bottle of Now standardized white willow bark extract, I tried another brand of willow bark that was not standardized and appeared to be a blend of different types of willow. I had no side effects from it and it was a brand I’ve used previously via other products from the same brand. But it did nothing whatsoever to help minimize the pain of my arthritic shoulder and elbow flare-ups. I was somewhat skeptical then to try this Now brand standardized white willow bark extract. I am a believer now though. Just two capsules reduced my shoulder and elbow pain significantly, just as well as if not better than two or three ibuprofen, but without any of the G.I. side effects I sometimes get from ibuprofen. This particular white willow bark extract is definitely one I will be sure to keep on hand going forward. It really works well for me. Do your research online about standardized vs. non-standardized willow bark extract, specifically white willow bark. The type of willow bark is important. I am glad I found this one from Now after I did some research.

This supplement actually works and it's no surprise since the main component of Aspirin is found in White Willow bark. Besides the pain relief I noticed some mild relaxation properties as well. Another plus points is that it's fast acting.The downside is that it lasts for a few hours, say about 3-4 hours for 2 capsules.

Have used Now brand White Willow Bark for several years. It's always been excellent! It's like a natural version of aspirin. But, the most recent bottle of this in Spring 2023 contained capsules that were orange ~ like Turmeric or B vitamins. Capsules also had a strong odor ~ which B vitamins also have. Not sure if the wrong capsules were perhaps put in the bottles in this batch? But, the herb is usually dark green to light grey brown in color ~ as you'd expect a dried green herb to be. I was afraid to take these, not knowing what they are for sure. I like Now brand herbs, and buy them all the time .. so this is a first. Hopefully, just a one time mistake :)Updating to say I'd forgotten about the above experience by Feb 2025, and ordered another bottle of Now White Willow Bark capsules. Have used Now brand for 25 years, and have always been happy with their products. But, have also used White Willow Bark capsules from at least 3 brands for that many years, and the herb isn't supposed to be orange. But, my most recent experience with Now brand White Willow Bark is the exact same as the one relayed above ~ orange capsules with an unusual odor like B-50 vitamins. Ordered Nature's Way brand of WWB to replace this most recent Now bottle. The Nature's Way's clear gel caps look normal ~ they're filled with dried herbs that are dark green to light grey brown ~ with no unusual odor ~ as they should be. Not sure what's up with quality control at Now brand, but until it's remedied, won't order Now brand of White Willow Bark again.

It does not upset my stomach like big brand aspirin, and seems to actually work better.
