Impressive product!
I purchased this product for use in a packet filling machine. The module cooperates seamlessly with my microcontroller, only requiring four M/F wires and a few lines of code to get it working. I'm particularly impressed with the range and precision of this scanner. A *moving* packet with a printed QR code held ~1 foot from the scanner is captured perfectly every time.Another reviewer pointed out that the logic voltage (3.3V) is lower than the power voltage (5.0V). If you're using an Arduino and a 3.3V output is not available, a 5.0V output can be lowered by dividing the voltage: Arduino TX --> 1.8 kΩ resistor --> module RX & Arduino TX --> 3.3 kΩ resistor --> GND.All told, this is an excellent out-of-the-box module. There are some cheaper bar code / QR code scanners available, but all seem to require some tinkering before they work. If your sanity is worth a few extra dollars, then you're in the right place.

Instructions are easy.
This QR code systems works just as intended with USB. Very well put together. It comes with a cable to help you attach it to your custom circuit as well. WARNING! No where does it say that it operates on 3.3V for the logic levels on TX and RX. I used a translator, because the operating voltage specified was 5V. So I assumed the logic was also at 5V. Since this is true, I would not recommend plugging the TX line from an Arduino UNO into the RX line of the QR code reader as without more data , this could potentially damage the device. The seller of this QR code reader needs to specify that it operates at 3.3V logic with a 5V power supply to it.

Description lies about supported codes - doesn’t actually support most of them
Description lists support of great many codes, but in reality it only supports less then half of what is claims, specifically:QR, UPCA, UPCE, EAN13, EAN8, CODE39, CODE128, CODE25.Stay away, this is very dishonest.I foolishly designed and built an enclosure for this scanner, only to find out that it is totally useless for my application.

Excellent QR scanner!
Reach out to the maker to get the programming instructions! So many features, but also works really well out of the box. I'm using it on a production line for quality control and it has been very fast and accurate. I recommend turning off the onboard light and using a LED panel light at a low angle if you have any scan reliability issues (I'm scanning a QR code through reflective plastic!)

Good device, reads lots of codes, lots of setup options
The media could not be loaded. I have a few of these Maikrt modules and have not had any problems (been using them lightly for a couple of months). They have lots of configuration options so you can set what kinds of codes it will read, settings for feedback beeps, lights, timers, volume, and settings for the data, character timing for HID mode, data termination (can't be set to anything you want but it can be set to CR, LF, or both, or none). Very flexible. You can configure it by scanning QR codes or sending commands (I've only done it via QR).I always use the module in USB mode but I wanted to try the same test as the other gentleman who was having problems so I connected it to an Arduino and set it for UART/TTL mode and ran that same sample program he was using and it worked fine for me using the program as-is and all the defaults on the scanner module. I don't know why his was not working.FYI, I am using a Zulkit ABS enclosure also purchased from Amazon.

Works well, offers lots of functionality, easy to work with.
This device was perfect for my home automation project. I was looking for a QR code reader which is small, easy to integrate with and of decent build quality, and this device surpassed my expectations. The device has functionality to monitor its status, and restart if necessary, which is just what I was looking for. When I was building the components in my home automation project (a door control system), I emailed the seller asking for more information, and they answered quickly to my email with the correct information and supplied a guide with detailed instructions.I can recommend this product.
