Great product
My 2.5 year old loves this! She likes to sit at the kitchen counter and type on her leaptop while I am checking my email on the netbook. She is learning some of the alphabet sounds and other things from it too. But beware - it is for a toddler, so the sounds of the letters are limited, as are the options. But at 2.5, too many options is actually a bad thing. So far the product has proven very durable and easy to clean. Downsides include a ridiculously large installation software to personalize 3 emails and one song for her. But really, with the other things on here, she doesn't need that much personalization. Some of her friends in nursery school got the leap pad. But it is way too advanced for a 2 year old. Even if she does like the games on the leap pad, what happened with her friends is that it got cracked, broken, the cards for the games got lost, etc. She just isn't ready for that yet. The leap pad says it is for 5 and up, and it really, truly is. She does great with this and I will be upgrading to the leap pad when she is old enough not to lose or damage it. Highly recommend this for toddlers.

A kids computer that makes learning fun!
This is a wonderful, fun, educational kids toy computer! The 3.5 year old I gave it to has a hard time putting it down! His 5 year old sister has one and she loves it too! In fact she wouldn't share her computer with him, so I bought him his own! Now they play on their computers together. It teaches children the alphabet, sounds of letters, words that begin with specific letters, information on different animals and more! This is a great investment into your childs early education.

Perfect toy for toddlers
The LeapFrog My Own Leaptop is wonderful! My 3-year-old has been entertaining himself with it for days. As other reviewers mentioned, the screen is a little dark, but it doesn’t seem to bother my son. It is very user-friendly and age appropriate. My son enjoys getting to switch between songs, letters, messages & games. There are two volume levels that are easily distinguishable. I hope to use this on long car rides to help keep my son entertained. I would recommend this product as a gift!

Fun, interactive, educational toy
Thought my son might be a little young for this (he's 2.5 years old), but he loves it! He is thrilled that he now has his own "puter" and he carries it all over. He already knows his letters and has really enjoyed the feature that names something for each letter and the "games". His favorite part of the computer is the songs. He loves them and dances all over when the number song comes on. We've had this laptop for about 6 weeks and it is a definite go to when we need him distracted for a few minutes. This has been a very interactive toy for my toddler. Update: My son still enjoys this toy a lot. I lowered my rating to four stars because I have realized that the "games" tab is actually only one game and it's much too hard for kids. My son never goes to that tab anymore and now primarily listens to the music. I wish there were more games.

Great toddler laptop!
My daughter got this for Christmas and loves to do "work" on it when my husband or I have to use our laptops. It's entertaining, educational (she learned how to spell her name at 2 1/2, only about a week after having purchased it), and fun. Wish I would've bought two more for my nephews Christmas presents! The toy is too fun for the kids to share it easily when they are together. She has also learned her abc's and some of the letter sounds too. She is 3 now and still enjoys it. I love that you can program emails from different people on it. A really great toy for a really great price.

Excellent toy!
I gave each of my twin boys one of these for their 3rd birthday and they love it! They love to open it and figure out which "computer" is theirs, which they can tell because it greets them with their own name. I like how I was able to easily get online and personalize each of their computers. There are a lot of activities for them to do and it is easy for even a 3 year old to figure out. I also think it was a great price (I don't really expect to get a lot for $20 anymore, but this surprised me).

Great value for the buck
This laptop is great for the value. My two year old loves the many different songs, and sounds it plays. It has 4 different "modes" so he can do four different things. One for music, one for games, one for "email", and one for ABC that teaches the sound, look, and gives a word or animal for each letter of the alphabet. He got a different vtech laptop when he was 6 months old and I think he outgrew that one since it was more or less just playing songs and making different sound effects, so this one is more age appropriate for him and he will probably still be able to use it for the next couple of years. It is a little loud, but there are two volume settings and he just insists on having the loudest one on (2 year olds, right?) but that's okay. It is also small and compact so it easily fits in his diaper bag or small backpack that he likes to carry.

More toy than educational, but she’s into it
My 2.5 year old is into it. When I opened it up I was ready to return it. We have a tablet with educational games that do a lot more so it felt like a waste. But seeing her sit down and open up this laptop and say “Everybody be quiet! I’m on a call!” is worth $20. It doesn’t really do much at all but her letter recognition is improving so this is good additional practice. Also we have the Violet puppy toy which allows you to add your kid’s name and the puppy says it. You can add the name on this laptop but it only spells it out. I wouldn’t buy it again, but she likes it quite a bit so I guess it’s ok.
