Lanikai4-String Ukulele, Walnut (CDST-T)

This is an amazing little instrument. I got a tenor ukulele because I thought it would provide a little more room on the keyboard for my fingers than my soprano.Well, the Lanikai folks outdid themselves on this uke. The keyboard is wonderful to play with. The action makes it easy to get the chords right and your fingers fit easily. I noticed that the Lanikai advertisements indicated that they thought the there was more "room at the nut" which is exactly what I experienced.Plus, this is a gorgeous instrument. The mahogany body and the cedar front make this look a little like a ukulele version of a Martin guitar.And, the sound is just amazing. It's broad and really pretty without losing the characteristics you expect with a ukulele.If you're thinking about buying something a little more than a $50 uke, this is a serious step up. I would also suggest that this would be a great uke to learn on because it is so easy to play.

It's a beautiful ukelele and I had high expectations on its workmanship. However, the spacing of the strings is quite uneven at the nut end. Also, the action is too high for my comfort. But I can't complain with the deal that I had. Good thing I can do the extra set-up by myself.

I loved the sound of this beautiful instrument, but unfortunately 18 days after I received it the bridge just broke off. It looked like the glue joint just let go. I contacted Central Music, the vendor through Amazon, and received a post-paid return label. I sent it back and within an hour the uke being delivered back to Central Music, I received a full refund. This was an unfortunate manufacturing defect, and it was dealt with in a friendly and efficient manner. I would recommend the instrument and the seller.
