Keeps Giving
I bought a copy when this first came out as a teenager. Bought a copy for my younger brother for his birthday since he was just getting into him and wanted to show more than just his stage presence. I love commentary and essay books and this hits it for me and my brother really enjoyed it.

I have been a HUGE Carlin fan since I was first introduced back in high school in 2003. My one regret in my life thus far is not seeing him live when I have 2 opportunities to do so. That being said, if you are a Carlin fan you must have this book. If you are a Carlin fan you must have Braindroppings and When Will Jesus Bring the Pork Chops as well. I have read each book numerous times and when I read them I can hear his voice saying it outloud. A must have for any Carlin fan.

I miss George
My headline is my explanation of why I bought this book and I didn't remember reading it, though I must have back when it first came out or I heard the material in here in some of his comedy specials. The first 2/3 of the book have some laugh-out-loud moments though by the end it read like he was just an angry old man ranting. By then he really gets off on into some really odd stream of consciousness writing. Not one of his best efforts, though Carlin really is about his body of work and the evolution of it over time. There is still much gold here in classic Carlin fashion. A cynic is just a disillusioned optimist. Yep.

read and enjoyed this human being and comedian
The first time I learned about George Carlin must have been some 30-35 years ago; being Mexican, it adds up, since I don't know one single person among my friends and acquaintances in my country, who has seen, read and enjoyed this human being and comedian... In all, the material one finds in "Napalm & Silly Putty" is the closest to being at one of his live presentations. R. R. Solorzano

The most fun I've had with a book!
I have had so much fun over the years with this book... in fact, I'm going to have to buy a new copy because my current one, which is my second, is falling apart from overuse... The whole book is a series of stories and one liners that's great for reading with your buddies when you wanna laugh your butt off.

Much better understood by older generations, but still enjoyable to young folk.

George Carlin treats us again to a collection of rants, jokes, one-liners and his vision on the world we live in. Often witty and clever, he delivers word play like no other. It's a proud sequel to Brain Droppings and, as usual, a very entertaining read. If you like Carlin's humour, this book is for you. It's also not necessary to have read his previous books to enjoy this one.
