Sasquatch no more!!
Where was this thing about 25 years ago?!?! I received my MANGrooomer Ultimate Pro in 2 days (even in the midst of snow storm) as expected and it was packaged very well. I opened the package and read the instructions from end to end before attempting to use it. They state to let the unit charge for 18 to 24 hours before use so that's what I did. About 18.5 hours later I got comfortable with the way the unit adjusted/operated and started in. Now I should say that I was one of the first of my friends growing up to get body/facial hair. Sadly it doesn't seem to have ever stopped! I'm now 45 and while I haven't ever let my hairy presentation deter me from doing what I wanted (beach, pool, etc.), I've always been very uncomfortable with my appearance. And while my hair wasn't the thick, brillo-pad style I've seen on some unfortunate guys out there, it was more than what I ever wanted on my body. I went the Nair route once and let's just say I only went that way once for a reason!! Nasty stuff!! One of the issues I faced is that there really wasn't a place to "stop shaving" if I had someone shave my back which meant shaving my "front" and arms too. Who wants to bother someone with that all of the time? So I fire up the MANGroomer for its maiden voyage and I'll admit, I was a bit skeptical after seeing some of the negative reviews. I thought for sure I was going to end up one of those guys with the "hair type" that the MANGroomer wouldn't cut through or whatever. The instructions say to make slow passes to prevent pulling the hair out. So I make a couple of slow passes on my upper back/shoulder area and ... holy crap ... the hair's gone! And no pain! No redness! No smell! So I continue...I was able to do my whole back thanks to the way the MANGroomer is designed. Because the human-wool on my back was rather thick, I opted for the trimmer blade versus the close-cut/razor blade. It removed the hair so short you could barely see it. You could feel the stubble if you ran a hand across my back, but really not bad at all. Because there was no good stopping point as I mentioned earlier, I continued to do the rest of my body. One of the other concerns I had was whether or not I'd be able to use this everywhere or if I'd have to buy yet another groomer for the rest of my body. I was able to maneuver the MANGroomer so as to get everything trimmed up - arms, legs, torso, etc. It left a little more on my chest than everywhere else but that hair seems thicker than the rest. It was still very close... I was able to do my entire body without recharging and the motor didn't seem to be slowing down. Still, before I used it again I thought it best to plug it in and charge it up. After charging the unit for 2-3 hours and allowing me and my body to adjust to it's new-found environment, I swapped heads on the MANGroomer and tried out the closer-shaving head on my back. It's a little tougher to use than the trimmer only because of the angle you have to hold the MANGroomer at to get the head to sit flat. But just the same, it worked pretty well. I'll use a regular razor for the areas I can reach and save the MANGroomer for the back areas I can't reach. I cannot tell you how great I feel! This was long overdue. What made me finally decide to go forward with this is a recent vacation where I was the only guy at the pool/beach who wasn't man-scaped. Evidently, gone are the days where guys who shave their bodies are not the norm. I feel so much better about myself and cannot wait until the next vacation or pool party so I can show-off my new self! Another perk, the muscle tone that was lurking beneath the forest of man-fur is now on display for all to see. Good days ahead!

My Husband’s Back Has Never Felt So Free
I bought this for my husband, and honestly, it’s been life-changing for him. The Mangroomer Ultimate Pro doesn’t just shave your back, it liberates it. The two shock absorber flex heads glide over every curve like they were made for this exact mission, and the power hinge? Genius. No more awkward twisting, stretching, or asking me to help. The handle is long enough that he can reach every stubborn spot, and the Power Burst option is perfect for the patches that refuse to budge. His back has never been smoother, and he actually looks a little smug about it, like he’s discovered the secret to ultimate comfort. It works with the attachments, with good speed and has great blade sharpness. If your husband (or you) has ever struggled with back hair, this is the tool to get. It’s satisfying, effective, and honestly kind of fun to watch him use. Total 5/5, would recommend to every husband and wife team out there.

Good Back Shaver, but not easy
The Mangroover is my first venture into do it yourself back shavers. After reading a number of reviews and tired of asking my wife to shave my back, I decided to give it a shot. I was not disappointed, mainly because I really didn't know what to expect. The Main shaver head worked pretty well with my jungle of a back, but it didn't come without a little pain here and there, but nothing I couldn't push through. Being the first time I used the Mangroover, it felt a little uncomfortable. I would imagine that will dissipate after a while. It works, I had to use it on burst mode, but that is recommended, I'm sure the shaver head (close shave one) will work well once I figure out how to hold it and use the mirror to see what I'm doing. Pros: It works and I had a jungle of a back. I can do my back myself. It has a nice long handle. Cons: It's a little loud. The heads are a little small, larger ones might be nice. It's Awkward to use in the mirror, but I'm guess that will get easier. If you have a jungle like it did, it may take a couple of passes to remove hair. The main shaver head, does not get skin close shave, need to use the other head for that. All small cons, nothing I couldn't deal with. All in all, happy for now.

Wow!! This is a Hairy-Back Man's Best Friend
I bought this completely on whim because I was looking for an easier way to shave my back. Firstly, I was previously using a simple back shaving wand that I'd attach with Schick Hydro 5 razor. I had also previously used the expensive BakBlad which SUCKED! It only lasted three shaves then it became so dull it did nothing. Waste of money! I was happy with my simple back shaving wand however only it was a production to shave having to lather up my back, shave, shower, then come back to clean up the leftover hair. That's when I found this wonderful tool! I thank all the glowing Amazon Reviews (people seemed to be literally in love with it) which prompted me to buy it. Yes!! The Love is Justified! This thing is AMAZING! First off, it's very well made. Sturdy, masculine and dare I say, just sexy. It's rechargeable but already came with a charge so I was able to immediately begin mowing my backyard. I've shaved with mechanical clippers before but they'd always tear up my back leaving scratches and annoying stubble. However, this thing has a special head that shaves close against my skin and is flanked by a clipper's like blades that cuts the longer hairs. It also came with a straight clipper's like head if you'r hair is super long to begin with. The shaving process was super simple. It didn't irritate my delicate skin (but of course the rest of me is tough as nails), and by shaving against the grain it left my skin nice and smooth. I recommend shaving slowly (grooming should be a practice not a race), using mirrors if possible to see what you're doing. In just 7 minutes I went from King Kong to Kim Jong-un (since he's Asian I'll assume he doesn't worry about back hair). My skin was pretty dry afterward so I put some lotion and my skin sparkled like back in the day before life decided to take all the hair from my head and put it on my back. Lastly, it was powerful enough to cut all my hair without a problem. Although it does have a "Power Burst" button which I call Robin Williams Mode. The best part of this unit is now I can easily shave my back every few days and when I go out shirtless I'll no longer have these PETA nuts throwing red paint on me shouting "fur is murder!" (I hope you liked my review, I tried to spice it up with humor because life can be dull sometimes. If you liked my review may I recommend you print it out and read it aloud at your next party)

Pure junk that will bite you! Byer beware.
Just for the record, I have owned two of the older styled units, of which I have used for several years - but of course, they are all very cheaply made in China, so their lifespan isn't all that great. Up until now, they actually did a reasonably decent job. My problem(s) with this specific unit... 1.) First problem...The unit was running (as in - turned on) in the package when it was delivered. The packaging sort of exposes the on/off button - which apparently was able to be pressed somehow in the delivery process. It was vibrating on my front door step when I got it...Try to imagine what the delivery driver was thinking...sort of funny, I guess. 2.) There are a few different buttons (aside from the on/off button)...There's one to press to extend the handle, there's one to press that adjusts the angle, and there seams to be a small one on the blade head - which should allow you to clear any obstructions or jambs on the blade...NONE of those buttons worked, they all were either jammed (cheap plastic on plastic), or they just didn't function as intended. Every time that I tried to make either adjustment on the angle or extension, it felt like the plastic handle was going to snap or strip the plastic gear inside. 3.) The function of the blade...For the first 30 or 40 seconds, the unit seemed to be working okay, as expected. Within less than a minute, it was ripping at my hair and nicking my skin like a little piranha. After carefully examining the head, and trying to remove the cover to see if it was jammed or clogged, the cover would not remove without risk of breaking it. As I was stating earlier, the release button would not depress at all. there was no visible issue on the blade itself, but at that point I repackaged everything, and returned the unit. There was an option to get a replacement, but the overall quality was way worse than the previous two units that I had owned...and this one was sold as "the new improved model"...No thanks, i try another brand I guess. If nothing else, I'll probably rig a quality trimmer to the end of a broomstick handle, or just make something more custom myself. Save yourself the time, money and aggravation...try a different product, maybe the old style. I'd strongly recommend avoiding this one.

Brilliant--and WAY better than Razorba.
LOVE THIS THING> I am astonished by just how well this works. The adjustable angle of the hinge, and long extendable handle, mean that not only is pretty much every spot on my back reachable, it's reachable using either hand! It works faster and better than a blade (I used to use a blade with a Razorba--never again) For instance, you can slide the Mangroomer cutting head back and forth over an area, removing all the hair in a stroke or two. With a blade, you'd be unable to move back and forth (you have to stroke the blade once, lift it up, re-position it, and stroke again). And with a blade, if you don't stroke in the correct direction relative to the "grain" of the hair, you don't necessarily cut anything--ugh. The Mangroomer isn't picky about direction--just move back and forth over an area and it gets shaved. And of course, it works without water or shaving cream, so it's much less messy than using a blade. And if your hair is dense, you need to rinse the blade after every few strokes, making more of a wet mess and slowing the process to a crawl. Mangroomer is SO MUCH FASTER and cleaner, it ain't funny. And because nearly every spot on your back is reachable with either hand, shaving around the shoulder blades is much easier. (If you try to shave around one shoulder blade while holding the device with the hand on same side, lifting your arm to use the Mangroomer or Razorba will make the skin/bone bunch up around your shoulder blade instead of laying flat, making it really hard to shave. You need to relax that side and hold the device in the opposite hand. Much easier with Mangroomer than Razorba.) A few more points: The hinge is so strong that I don't bother locking it in position. I haven't used the turbo button, the regular speed works just fine for me. I do wish there was a way to prevent the power button from being depressed by accident (if I pack this on vacation I want to leave the charger at home, and not worry about the device turning on because something in my luggage bumped into the power button).

The back shaver is ok, but...
Works pretty good but needs to be charged every other week even though I only use it once a week. The double-sided trimmer/foil had to be replaced after 3 months, the foil started coming out and wouldn't stay in place. Just keep an eye on the double-sided trimmer/foil to be sure the foil is secure. The foil can come loose while shaving and the blades can leave small cuts on your back. **Update 2/19/2016** I bought the Mangroomer Ultimate Pro back shaver on October 25th 2014, the previous Ultimate Pro would no longer hold a charge. During the Fall of 2015 the plastic lever inside the shock absorber flex head that the double-sided trimmer/foil attaches to broke. I emailed the company asking if they sold just the shock absorber flex head, they said no they don't sell that part. They ended up sending a new Mangroomer Ultimate Pro for free since the original was still under warranty. I now have two Mangroomer Ultimate Pro back shavers but only use one, I really wish they offered replacement parts. I didn't start using the replacement back shaver until November of 2015 and the double-sided trimmer/foil just recently started to not trim back hair near as good as it first did. On their website they recommend replacing the double-sided trimmer/foil every 6 months, it hasn't been 6 months so I'm not sure why it isn't trimming back hair very good. I always carefully clean the double-sided trimmer/foil after use to remove any hair, so being dirty isn't an issue. I emailed the company about 2 weeks ago to ask them why they thought the double-sided trimmer/foil isn't trimming back hair very well since I have only been using it for 3 months. I was also worried that maybe the plastic lever inside the shock absorber flex head wasn't working properly. I wasn't sure if the lever was supposed to move freely. Two weeks passed and they never responded to my first email, I sent a 2nd email and still no response. I called the phone number on their website for General Information, that was a complete joke. I told them the company never responded and the person on the phone said send another email. I sent 3 more emails and still no response, I called again and told them the company still isn't responding, they said send another email and that the company responds within 24 hours. I'm not sure why the Mangroomer website says they have a toll free number for General Information, they have an answering service that tells you to email the company for information. I'm also not sure why they have an email address where customers can supposedly email the company with questions, especially since they do not answer emails.. It sure would be nice is the company would actually respond to emails, I guess they no longer check emails.

Excellent back trimmer
I just want to start by saying that I originally mistook this for a full body trimmer and was disappointed when it wouldn't trim my chest hair. That said, it was completely my fault for not reading the ad more carefully. So with that said, it works perfectly for its intended use as a back shaver. I've used it several times now and have yet to charge it besides the initial charge. I was reluctant to review it too soon add I wanted to be sure of its quality for the price and the fact that it's only a back trimmer and not a full body trimmer. It's very well made and trims the back hair rather effortlessly with no tugging of the hair or scratching of my skin. I'll be happy to purchase a separate body groomer and may even check out the same manufacturer. Battery life and overall quality is better than the "big name" trimmer that I previously owned.

Very good back shaver.
This is a great back shaver once you get the hold of how to do it properly. 1 minor detail the charger is US plug so make sure you have an adaptor when buy it.
