Home Brewer Special
If you want to make sparkling wine/champagne, these work extremely well. They keep your contents under pressure and I was able to reuse them later after I opened my bottles. Home brewers should get these!

Saved my wine
I back-sweetened and bottled some wine without first adding potassium sorbate. A few weeks later i heard a pop and after checking on the wine I noticed a few bottles were missing their corks and over half of their wine (they were on their sides...). The wine had continued to ferment and build up back-pressure due to carbonation. so these wire hoods, combined with the plastic corks have helped to save my remaining wine.

Works Like a Charm
I use these along with new plastic stoppers when I make fruit sparkling wines. Use champagne rated bottles and it will safely hold the pressure as the C02 builds up.

They work. I've used about 15 of them so far. One of them broke on me, but it was mostly my fault. I twisted the loop too many times and it came off in my hand. Oh, and THESE DO NOT COME WITH PLASTIC STOPPERS! Don't be deceived by the picture.
