Outstanding family game. I highly recommend it!!!
I remember back in the late 70's and early 80's growing up in South Florida, on rainy days during summer camp we would run to the Nok Hockey games sitting in the wreck room. Along with ping pong, bumper pool and foozball, Nok Hockey was my go to game. We purchased the large Carrom 20.01 Nok Hockey game for a holiday gift for our 10 (almost 11 year old) son. Needless to say he has been playing it with us as well as his friends non stop. We have set up tournaments, brackets etc. We are having a blast. The game is made with high quality construction and will provide countless hours of fun for the entire family. It is an easy game to pick up and learn. Some basic house rules we employ (most are traditional Nok Hockey rules that I still to this day remember). 1. Face off in the center is as easy as 1,2,3 - tap your stick on the board at the same time as your opponents, and then tap your opponents stick. Do this three times then you both can have at it in getting to the puck with your stick. 2. Pucks in the defensive zone can only be played by that player. 3. If the puck stops in the goal zone (solid red area on your board) but is not a goal, the defending player has the option to shoot from that spot or take the puck and shoot a "thumb flick shot" off his wooden bumper. It takes a little practice, but you will get the hang of the thumb flick shot and it is a deadly goal shot once you learn it!! Go to You Tube and check out some videos of people playing Nok Hockey and you will see what a Thumb Flick Shot looks like! 4. A puck in the neutral (middle of the board) zone is there for the taking. Both players should be trying to get to it. That can cause some fun moments, and be careful!! The puck can go flying sometimes off the board! 5. If a player shoots the puck off the board then the defending player gets a free shot from either circle (on your board you will see them) in his defensive zone. 6. If the puck is halfway in the net it is not considered a goal! The puck must be more than halfway in the net (tilted downward off the board). If a puck goes into the net but pops out we do not count it as a goal (sort of like hitting the pipes). You can make your own goal rules, but we like this rule. 7. No blocking shots with your stick is allowed. Otherwise you will never score. When a player is shooting the puck your stick should be completely off the playing board. The only time your fighting for the puck is when it is not in the respective players defensive zones. 8. You can't intentionally push the puck to set up shots. Make a concerted effort to shoot it every time. No "self passing" of the puck. This is not how Nok Hockey is meant to be played. 9. Regular games are played to 7 points. You must win by 2 points. For example a game tied at 6 would play to 8. If it is tied at 7 you play to 9 etc etc. Cahmpionship games we play to 11. You can set whatever score wins. or you can play a timed game. Whatever you want. That's pretty much it. The game is simple, fast and fun. Enjoy a classic non electronic game with your kids!!!!!

Carrom stands by its products.
Original game board damaged in transit. Carrom, a USA company immediately responded to my problem and arranged an immediate replacement. Their customer service is outstanding. The large Nok Hockey game is perfect. Kids, including me can’t stop playing. The playing board fits nicely over foosball table. Great play for everyone 5 and above. I particularly liked the customer service as they were so accommodating. I plan to buy other products from them.

Piece of crap! A true ripoff!
Classic Nok Hockey game. This is a Christmas gift for my grandson, who is 5, but I had one as a kid about 70 yrs ago. My game 70 yrs ago was great - my grandson's game was horrible. The side boards were totally dead and the puck only rebounds about an inch, regardless of the force of the shot. This was a total waste of $$$.

No-noise, no batteries = heavenly nostalgia
What could be better? Here's a toy that takes you back to your own youth, that will even bring a sparkle to the eyes of your grown children, and that will delight six-ten year olds even though they've been brought up on noisy, mechanical, TV/video/computer stuff. You can open the box, you don't need a PhD to read directions, and the game begins! True, the nok-hockey sticks are now plastic, the basic board is a tad smaller than you remember, and the puck will probably disappear in a day (hide that second puck in a place you'll remember and take up woodworking; the cost of replacements is ridiculous). It was thrilling to hear the thwack of the sticks and squeals of joy. Stick it under a bed or couch when the kids tire of it (but they won't for a while) and enjoy it - it's the simplest of games and definitely still one of the best.

Best toy of the year
I bought this for my 6 year old son's Christmas present this year and, though he had never seen anything like this before, has since come to love this toy as the best gift of his year by far. The quality of the board is better than expected. The wooden set is made to the form I remember from when I was a girl. I had actually purchased one of these locally the year before only to have the glue holding the side beams dry out making the entire unit fall to pieces. So the fact that this has kept in tact for at least three months despite daily use tells me that this set was made to last. It's a simple design, but it works very well and we've had many a fun night playing it as a family. So yeah, it's a win.

Great game to get people off electronics and share family time
It’s a game we played during GYM/ PE if we could not go out we would have game stations. And this was everyone’s favorite, it’s a simple but sturdy build, it’s a perfect gift to entertain with the young and adults. It’s a break away from electronics, can’t beat the price for what it is and the price of wood to build your own and get materials and the time to make it.. very worth it.

Hi this game brings me back years and now my child can enjoy with his friends. It is larger than I thought and peopel complained about the hockey sticks BUT they must have improved it since it is NOT flimsy at all-very sturdy. The wood on sides is naked wood so I put a protective stain to prevent splintering. I would recommend it highly and it was a gift from overseas and came in one piece.

This is perfect for our cabin. Keeps the kids busy and off their ipads. My kids are 9 and 12 and they loved it... as did my husband and I. Excellent purchase that will be enjoyed for many years to come.
