Working great for small branches
These are much smaller and lighter than many other products out there. So if you need something light and versatile, I highly recommend these. All in all, these are quite strong for their size, but the light weight means you are giving up some strength.Anything 1 inch or smaller will be fairly easy to cut with these. If you are cutting anything over an inch, it is doable, but will take a significant amount force. By my estimation anything 1.75 inches or larger will be too big for these.

OK, but you need to know how to use them!
Saw a lot of negative reviews of this product, so I thought I should set the record straight. I've used Corona shears in my 62 acre walnut orchard for over 30 years, and I feel that they're the best. I only gave 4 stars, as they have come out with some non commercial shears, and while they're fairly adequate, they're a bit less sturdy than the commercial models. However, I bought a pair of these and have been very happy with them. I've been able to cut branches up to almost 2" thick! But, it should be mentioned that cutting larger limbs with pruning shears takes a special technique, and without knowing it, you'll likely damage the shears trying. To cut larger, or more dense limbs, move the limb as deeply into the jaws of the shear as possible. Then, apply some pressure to begin the cut. Don't try to cut all the way through, but rather, stop when it seems that you may be exceeding the strength of the shear. The handles should flex a very slight amount when max pressure is reached. Then, relocate the branch within the jaws, again, placing it as far into them as possible & repeat the cutting pressure, again, stopping when it becomes too extreme. Repeat until you're through, usually 2 to 4 cuts. Knowing how to properly use a tool will always get a better result. Too many negative reviews are written simply because someone has never been properly instructed in using the item that they're reviewing!

Pretty good product, I recommend it. Have been using this brand for years and never disappoints with this type of loppers. Had some while back and were as great as these.

I loved it. It performed just like my old one that I replaced after 20 years of faithful service. I was sad though when I couldn't get it directly from Corona due to the fact that they don't carry it anymore in there line up or the fact that there is no replacement blade for it. I know this one will surely last the same number of years also as it is of the same quality and durability. It is a heck of a clipper for doing small shrubs and tree pruning for the home gardener. It does the job and it is easy to work with and can be sharpened time over time.

Only the strong should try
With big limbs, maybe 1-1/2 in, I brace one handle on my leg and use two hands to cut. Works great! It's Carona. And it's lightweight. It's well worth it's space in the old tool bucket.
