Best money I’ve spent in a long time!
This little tool is great! So easy to set up and adjust; made peeling and slicing apples so much easier. No hesitation about whether I have time to make a crisp or a pie. Love it!

Works good!
Used to have the type that clamps on cutting board, was skeptical about suction but it works great!

works like discribed
I wanted this toy for a long time, but didn't get it until now. I noticed that some people said the suction did' not work. I tried the suction on a wooden cutting board and it didn't work on the wooden one but did on the glass. I had to flip the glass cutting board to the smooth side, also you have to hold down the cutter with one hand and flip the handle at the same time. Putting the corer in position was hard, I had to use a pair pliers to loosen the wing nut, it was on very tight, and position the corer then tighten the wing nut again. So it worked as described. I peeled a potato, and an apple as you can see in picture. The potato needed to have the eyes of the potato cut out with a knife, but if you don't care about that, I don't so I just left the eyes on the potato. The apple peeler worked okay and got most of the skin off, and removed the core nicely. Also cheated because I went to You tube for a video. That helped a lot because I am very visual, and don't follow well with the manual which could have shown better pictures. So anyway this was a want buy not a need buy. I like this toy and hope to use it a lot.

NOT very safe or effective
I got this for my adult daughter to use while processing apples for canning. It's an utter waste of money and resulted in substantial injuries to her hand while using it. It's actually more accident inspiring than just using a knife or the old fashioned corer/slicers that have been around for ages. Here's the breakdown on it.First of all, it came with one blade, and I understood that it would have more options. Maybe I was wrong, but the end result was that for peeling, it was worthless. It removed a thin ribbon of peel, which is fine, except it left an equal sized piece of unpeeled apple in between, which meant going back and trying to remove that peeling after the apple has been cored and sliced. Not a time saver and certainly more tricky than just peeling the apple would be.The corer--it removed a cylinder of apple from the interior. Sounds great in theory, but lining up the core exactly on the apple is difficult. Removing the apple for a second try is hazardous--it resulted in stab wounds from the recoil of removing the well-stuck apple from the very sharp three prongs that hold it for the entire process. Both the coring blade and the prongs eventually caused wounds, both of which bled profusely, though did not need more than normal home first aid. The recoil is unavoidable from removing the apple before peeling, slicing and coring. The only blade that can be moved out of the way is the peeler blade.Overall, the only function worth anything was the slicing, and even that was deemed not worth the rest of the hassle. The apples had to be peeled before the coring and slicing, then the remaining core had to be removed after the corer failed to self center. While the machine can't be blamed entirely for that, as cores are rarely cylindrical and perfectly centered, the difficulty in lining them up for even most of the core was deemed too dangerous to try to re-center it.Just buy the manual push down corer-slicer and a good ergonomic peeler. You'll be happier in the long run with a tool that works for more than just the one thing, unless you have your heart set on having spiral cut apples. (The spiral cut apples still had to be cut again to make slices for apple pie filling anyhow.)The product is sturdy. It suctioned well to the baking tray we used to hold it and catch the peels and apple bits, which made clean up easy. It never moved until we released the lever. However, the peeler blade it came with was U shaped, and the thin ribbon left an equally sized thin ribbon of apple behind, making the peeling function largely useless unless you want apple peels in your end product. DO NOT remove the apple from the prongs once you have placed it there, no matter how careful you think you will be--it's not worth the resulting injuries (and bloody apples to toss out) to try and get it centered better.

Fundamental flaws
First the good. It peels apples. Like, it's awesome, and peels apples. Sometimes you have to hold your finger against the peeler part just to keep consistent pressure but seriously, I did 8 pounds of apples and in less than 15 minutes. The suction cup works great, it got messy from me putting wet apples on it and it never lost the suction. It turns easily and it doesn't take off a ton of the skin like I was worried it might. Now the not as good. We only buy the firmer apples but we happened to have a red delicious and I tried that, it did NOT want to peel that. The core was too soft and it would not grip. I had absolutely no problem with the fuji though. Large apples might be an issue, those jumbo honeycrisp that are the size of a grapefruit might not be able to fit. A couple of our Fujis were larger and the fit was tight. Don't try to squeeze it on though because you might accidentally grab onto the very exposed blade. The blade that cuts the apple is exposed all the time. There is no safety guard for when it's put away either. I would like to put it back in the box to keep the kids or myself from accidentally getting cut from lifting it out of the way but that little bitty handle that you have to put on, (it might need a screwdriver, I used my fingernail) is no attached and is in the way of the box. The handle doesn't fold in to fit into the box. Now I have an exposed blade just sitting in a cabinet. It's a pain to wash, I use a brush and wash the whole thing at once, I'm hoping it won't rust, it appears to be well put together and very sturdy. I'm glad I bought it but caution needs to be used when handling it.EDIT:It is with a sad heart I have to drop my review from 5 stars to 2 stars. One day I was sitting there, peeling an apple and all of a sudden, it wasn't moving forward anymore. The 3 prong part was no longer lining up with the circular corer section. I can't really fix it because it would require bending or pushing on it and that giant exposed blade is still there. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with it. Also, those giant honeycrisp apples? Don't bother, it can't handle an apple that large.

Best invention ever!
This product made preparing apples for canning so easy. I wish someone told me about it years ago.

Won’t last long
Doesn’t stay suctioned very well, hardware is aluminum (not stainless) so it reacts in the dishwasher. Buy one with a clamp and that’s 100% dishwasher safe instead.

Very Happy
Love this item because it makes peeling, coring and slicing apples for stewing, SO much easier and quicker. The more perfect the roundness of the apple, the better the result.
