Still works great after over a year of use every day, helps me recycle coffee grounds too
7/6/15....Update....I have owned this well over a year. i use it 2 times every day. the Gold electroplating is long gone, but the screen is still fully intact and works perfectly.I do not wash it after every use. In fact I have never really washed it. I rinse it between uses and sometimes soak it in soapy water. I have also found that it is handy to keep a plastic Folgers can ( I do not drink Folgers, but the cans are fantastic, and I can get 'em free at work). i can take the little screen cup and tap it a few times on the little indentation of the Folgers can inside and it knocks out all the grounds. Then when the can is 50 % full I put the used grounds on my garden or in my compost pile. Everyone that visits and sees this loves the idea, so I figured I would share it here.As to the product, I would have given up on my Keurig by now if not for this. Those little cups are pretty expensive for my 3 cup per day habit. this makes wonderful coffee quite affordable. I buy $10 per pound coffee. I would not want to brew a whole pot of it at a time but having a great fresh cup of coffee every time is perfect.Keurig is a great little device, but lets face it the coffee is expensive, and well it is average at best. This cup lets you use coffee shop quality fresh ground coffee in your maker. I buy Churchills hazelnut. I set it for coarse ground at the store grinder. I go through two $9 bags per month drinking 2 16 oz cups of coffee made super strong, every day. It costs me $0.15 per 8oz cup. At the strength I like, 8 oz is all the Keurig prefilled cups would do.I adore this filter. With coarse ground, there are no grounds in my coffee, unless I fill it too full and get some grounds in an area they do not belong prior to closing the filter lid.I save my coffee grounds for my garden and a quick rinse between batches is all the cleaning this little guy needs. It is moderately more work than a paper filter coffee maker, but the coffee is superior as well.Update...over a year of use two times per day and it still works great. The gold is nearly gone from the screen. Other than that it is perfect. I have found that when grinding the beans, if you grind them finer, you get a stronger brew with this.So if your Keurig does not brew strong enough coffee, fine ground in this will help. It does let some fines pass through. But not stick in your teeth amounts. Just a little thick stuff in the bottom of your cup. I tend to enjoy that part just as much.

It doesn't have to ruin your Vue
Have you ever pulled up the foil and SEPERATE IT FROM THE FILTER FROM a vue cup? If you haven't I suggest that you do. You will notice that there is actually TWO filters that are used in the vue cup! One is for the coffee grounds. BUT there is ALSO one (UNDERNEATH THE FOIL) located right in the CENTER OF THE FOIL where the hot water is injected in the vue cup! This small filter PREVENTS the coffee grounds from entering INTO the Vue coffee machine AND into your coffee cup!. If you could put a piece of filter paper around the nubby piece on the red part of the solofill cup(on the lid) this WILL KEEP THE COFFEE GROUNDS from EVER entering back into the machine! You can do the same at home. HOWEVER this is an extra step to add to the process. I have some left over paper filters from my other coffee maker. I cut a round piece of paper filter LARGER that the diameter of the red part of the solo cup. I put coffee as directed and I tap it down on the counter. I then shape the filter into a cone shape making sure that there is enough slack to accomidate the nubby part of the red lid of the solo cup WITHOUT PIERCING IT! ALSO make sure that a little bit of the paper filter sits on top of the lip of the cup part of the red piece. When the lid is closed it "seal" the nubby part. This will prevent the grounds from coming out of the nubby part of the lid when brewing. You won't have the grounds in your machine and you will not have any in your coffee either. I am sorry if I may have confused you but open a vue cup. Take it entirely apart and you will see what I am talking about. This way you can grind your coffee ANY which way you like! Opening up the vue cup also allowed me to see how fine to grind the coffee to get the same result as the prepackaged vue cups! I know it may seem like too much but I do only make a two-three cups of coffee a day. Also my favorite coffee DOES NOT come in a vue cup.

Perfect Match for Keurig Vue - Love it!!
THIS IS A MUST if you have a Keruig Vue - I LOVE IT!!!! This is my second order of these (4 total now). I can not recommend these high enough!!! I was at first cautious to order as there were so many complaints - but I totally disagree!!!! I think the problems are people just don't READ the instructions and are not careful, then you might could have a problem. So my suggestion - Buy it, READ the instructions and pay attention to the use. I have NOT had one problem and my husband and I use these at least 6 or 7 times every day. Another suggestion, have one for coffee and one for tea or other. As I have used the gold foil filters for years, even if you can scrub them everyday the foil will build up a small amount of residue and I don't like a "hint" of coffee in my herbal teas, so I have one that I wrote "Tea" on with a Sharpie marker and we only use it for tea or hot water. This item is a perfect match for the Vue!!!Another suggestion - BUY extras, as Keurig is no longer making the Vue series - which IMHO is crazy, but I understand from a business point they want to control what products we buy and use in OUR machines. Therefore, since the Vue is now no longer being made, the manufacturer of these items will eventually stop making these as well. The unit appears to be made very well, but we all know things eventually break or wear out. So buy extras!!One last thought - if you like your Vue, and we love ours - buy another "spare" and put it in the closet. When the first one wears out (everything does), then you won't be at the mercy of the manufacturers and have to change to whatever item they are marketing. I did this as soon as I heard about the discontinuation of the Vue series. I bought a second unit, put the extra new one on a shelf in the garage and when my current one dies, I will still get to have my Vue. I've used this strategy before for a variety of favored items - its has never failed me!

Saves money!
Saves you money, what's not to like? Super fast shipping it literally came in one day! Coffee isn't as strong when brewing but we just use the same batch twice and all is good. Like I said it saves money and with these machines and the price of the vue packs it's 5 stars from me!
