FlexTIP (Crutch-Round) - Set of 2, Universal Attachment for 7/8” OD Crutches (Tip ID = 7/8") Anti-Shock, Bending for Stability & Traction – fits Fully Round Shaft Crutches

I have a torn ligament and have to be completely non-weight bearing on my right foot for about 8 weeks. That is hard enough but add to it, I live in NYC and only get around by public transportation. I was really hoping this was going to be the answer for my achy elbows and shoulders from the crutches but I had a few issues with it...Unfortunately, the product was a bit larger than my standard crutch pole (given to me at the hospital) and they were slipping off as I raised the crutch to go forward. That was easy enough to fix by adding some tape to the pole to thicken it up a bit. But then as I was walking around in my house with them on I just didn't feel that the overall support was there for city-life needs and given that, I was afraid to go out of the house and run the risk of falling with them or getting stranded if they broke. So they didn't work out for me, but I think they could work given a different scenario. ***UPDATE******UPDATE******UPDATE******UPDATE*** After working with the owner of the company (Jamie) to come up with a good solution for me (as mentioned above, I live in NYC and have to get around on foot and public transportation) we came up with putting the FlexTIP (TLC-Mini 3") tripod bottom on both crutches instead and this was a GAME CHANGER! I felt VERY safe and secure while out and about (even in the rain!) I appreciate all the communication and tireless effort this company has given along with their dedication to customer satisfaction! I HIGHLY recommend their products as well as the company itself!

I just received my new FlexTIPs yesterday! I can't give an accurate account just yet but I can tell you that I do feel a bit more lighter on them (a spring in my step). I have been on crutches since I was 18 months old (now 55) so I do have many, many years of experience! The FlexTIPs fit the above crutch perfectly and they have a metal washer molded into the rubber in the bottom of the top section to support any cane or crutch from cutting through the rubber. This is a fantastic feature as I have worn through MANY crutch tips over the years! The company (Jamie) has been very helpful in finding the right product for me and is quick to answer emails, phone calls and is very knowledgeable. I wish he had been around all the years I was growing up and using crutches as not a lot of attention has been given to long term crutch use and the problems that can happen. I can't say enough about the company and the products and the helpfulness!

Design interior of the tips are designed to be up against the bolted part of the fastened spring. Leaving much if much of the cane/crutch unsupported or uncovered so the tip cannot fully cover or at the to the cane due to the bolted construction of the spring. (See pictures) basically when you put any weight down on the crutch or cane the entire tip comes right off someone’s violently which could be incredibly dangerous.

I looked all over for crutch tip replacement. The 2 pr. I had bought earlier last for only a month. I have a tibial plateau fracture that has not healed for 6 months. These replacement crutch tips do not slip on floors at doctor's & hospital, They made it that I felt stable and had more balance with walking and stairs. I got stuck in a low chair with no arms at hospital. I used my crutches after adding these flex tips and I was able to get up from the chairs with no problem. The nurse and people in waiting room were really impressed.

Normally I dont give product reviews. However, this product deserves a good one If you use crutches for any length of time you will grow tired of being uncomfortable under your arms as the shock of the crutches continually moves. These spring tips really help reduce that to a minimum.

Looks nice, if it fits on a crutch then I guess it would be nice, it didn't fit on my cane chair, so they are just sitting in a drawer, waiting to be used when I need crutches.

These are grippy and the shock absorber works well. I do recommend buying them. Being on crutches is a miserable experience and every little bit of comfort helps.

I like to' leave in place' the original plug that fits into the bottom of most crutches. The crutch tips last much longer with the plug in place, (other wise the somewhat sharp metal shaft with bite into the tips). To use these tips with the plug in place, I had to drill out the center of the plug, thus allowing the spring assembly to extend up into the crutch. These are fairly soft-spring devices, but they absorb some impact and seem durable enough. They seem to return almost zero rebound energy. I would love to see a 'C' spring design, (like seen in the 'Special Olympics'). These could better absorb and return energy.
