Great book to add!
Such a great addition toy son's library. I wish the book was in color, but overall I used this book everyday. Ny son enjoys these hand plays and also does them with his not much older cousin.

Great songs and rhymes for young kids - a fun distraction that isn't a screen!
Sometimes with kids you just say, "Hm, what will I do with you right now?'This book is a great answer to that question. It's an oldie, but goodie - so be prepared for some dated looking little drawings, but some great ideas. My daughter is a year old and I like having inspiration for new songs and little hand motions to do with her while we hang out on the couch, ride the bus, or sit in a waiting room. It has been fun remembering some old songs ("Where Is Thumbkin?") and learning some new ones too.

easy to follow
This book has some fun songs and is very easy to follow because it depicts the hand motions well. Some are songs and some are poems. The songs have the tunes included in case you don't remember (or if it's a new-to-you song). My 5 month old likes watching my hands and likes hearing me sing to him. I foresee this being a book I will reference for a long time!(I did get a used copy, FYI. I don't think it's worth the full price amount.)

FANTASTIC for roadtrips
We were going on a 15 hr/2 day road trip with a 4yr old (almost 5) and a 10 month old. I was picking up some books for the trip and picked this up to be able to take advantage of the 4-for-3 deal. This was THE BEST book for trips. Some of the finger rhymes were ones I knew and all of them had very clear pictures for knowing how to do it yourself. No trying to interpret text descriptions here. And the words were large and easy to read when the book was on my lap and I was doing the actions with my hands such that the kids could see them. This book never lost its charm for my kids -- I got tired of doing the rhymes and would close it up and make them do other things. My son borrowed the book from me when not being used actively and both read it himself and tried to do the rhymes. This is seriously the best travel "toy" I have ever purchased. Though I'm sure we'll be using it more at home too now. It certainly would have helped to know more of these by heart when waiting at restaurants and such.

Great book!
We have a 2 and 3 year old. My 3 year old especially loves this book. It shows you all the finger/hand actions to do during the songs in a really easy way to understand. Also, I like how the book is all black and white. I don't know a lot of these action rhymes so I can keep the book out for reference for me while we are using it - but the pictures don't really captivate my kids enough for it to distract them from what I'm trying to show them.

TRAVEL WITH THIS!!
I'm a grandma of eight who spent many an airline flight with one or more grandchildren in tow. From six months to even nine years, this book really entertains children. They love the poems and the action. Just be sure all keep their "inside voices" on the plane. The book is also great for auto trips and waiting for doctor appointments. My copy is tattered and for a long time I could not find this book anywhere and assumed it was out of print. I was so happy to find it on Amazon last month. It's a wonderful gift for weary mothers. Even tired and cranky children respond with smiles.M.C. Wolf

A Bad Idea
It is a book, where the gestures to popular fingerplays and action rhymes are drawn. The drawings are similar to the ones on the cover: simple and boring. It seems like this book was made for children. First I have doubts, that children at that stage could/would mimic the figures in this book, and second, the book isn't inviting; a child wouldn't look at it in the first place.

it still brings many fun and games for the little one
Although this book is American, it still brings many fun and games for the little one.

Good collection of song with clear steps
It is very useful to have all songs and accompanying gestures/fingerplay. 4 starts because it would be better as boardbook, with sturdier pages, it is difficult for a toddler to search for his favourite song for me to sing to him.
