Bad Bear! Alcohol Abuse! The angle you need to position your bottle to use this opener pretty much guarantees you will spill some of it, and make a mess in the process. I suppose you could angle it upside down, but that would keep it from being very decorative. I'm pretty disappointed. I thought this would be perfect for my porch overlooking the river, but I would have to remind guests not to try actually using it. EDIT: Ok, I admit it, I made the same mistake as others and used this the wrong way. I would just delete this review, since I don't have much new to add, but Amazon won't let me delete so I changed it instead.

Cast iron bear head bottle opener. I like it! I put it on a exterior wall on my house that faces my back patio where my BBQ set is and patio table. Looks good! I purchased separate stainless steel screws from a local home improvement store to install it on the side of my house. Just held the bear head up to the side of my house where I thought it looked good and drilled three small pilot holes through the mounting tabs to attach the bottle opener securely to my siding. Now all I have to do is pick up some black paint and dap over the screw heads to blend in with the rest of the bottle opener. Decent detail from the casting, looks and works well. $20.00 for a bottle opener? In the end I am happy with it. I've attached a couple photos of my installation of this thing. Cheers!

There are pros and cons to this product. Does it look good? Absolutely. Does it open bottles? Yes. As another reviewer stated, getting the bottle cap to catch on the teeth is not as easy as it should be. More importantly, I had a bit of confusion using it the first time. Another reviewer posted a photo with the bottle inserted horizontally (i.e., with the upper teeth catching on the bottle edge). You do not want to use it this way! Beer goes everywhere if you open it like this. Instead, you should hold the bottle vertically and catch the bottle edge on the BOTTOM teeth. Problem solved. Overall an okay product.

If youre looking for a cool looking, wall mounted, heavy metal bear bottle opener that will make you smell like beer after each use then this is DEFINITELY the one for you. My only suggestion if you buy this is to drink Framboise or a more fragrant beer so you can kill 2 birds with 1 stone: cologne and beer. If you drink Natty Ice or Red Dog and are married you will likely have marriage problems and if you're single you will only get hit on by ladies at a truck stop or that are living in the woods.

This is a bad ass bottle opener, just buy your own screws.

The bottom teeth don't grip the cap very well.

The bear looks really slick but honestly we tried to open many bottles and it is a difficult feat. We will return it soon... So disappointing.

Bought this as a gift for someone. Looks great. Nice heavy metal. I saw it being sold at west elm for a lot more.
