Save time, money and integrate flawlessly with lighting boards!
As professionals who fabricate set pieces for live television shows and large-scale events, we rely heavily on LED strip lights to bring our builds to life. The AKEPO LED DMX 4CH Digital Display Decoder has become an indispensable part of our workflow, streamlining the integration of our lighting systems with unmatched efficiency. This decoder delivers a professional-grade solution for controlling RGB LED strip lights, offering seamless DMX512 compatibility. During installation, we simply connected the LED strips to the decoder, and the lighting designer plugged in a single DMX cable. Within minutes, they had full control over the entire setup, effortlessly adjusting color changes, dimming levels, and even individual channel controls from the lighting console. The deviceโs precision response to DMX signals is remarkable, with no noticeable delay, allowing for dynamic lighting effects to sync perfectly with the creative vision. What makes this unit a standout is its user-friendly 4-channel design combined with an intuitive digital display. This made addressing DMX channels and setting the decoderโs configuration an absolute breeze. Whether it was assigning individual strips to different DMX addresses or creating synchronized lighting effects, this unit handled everything flawlessly. The integration process was seamless, and the decoder performed flawlessly during our live productions. Our lighting designer particularly appreciated the hassle-free setup and immediate compatibility with their DMX control board. The ability to quickly connect and achieve full-spectrum lighting control saved us hours of programming time, allowing us to focus on refining the creative aspects of our build. The only downside was the lack of an included power cord, which required a separate purchase. While this was a minor inconvenience, itโs worth noting for anyone planning to order the unit. Once powered, however, the decoder delivered rock-solid performance and integrated effortlessly into our lighting rig. In short, the AKEPO LED DMX 4CH Decoder is a must-have for professionals who need reliable, high-performing DMX control for their LED strip light installations. Its robust design, flawless signal processing, and ease of use make it an invaluable tool for fabricators and lighting designers alike. Highly recommended!

Inexpensive, works well for projects using PC DMX software
I obtained this for use in helping to diagnose problems with a middle school stage DMX system. We were able to show that the school's DMX controller was working, and that they had a problem with backstage power control equipment.

Easy to use decoder
Works well to control my strip leds. Easy to use and was able to control via dmx512 using opendmx.

Just what it appears
The metal case is sturdy, and has convenient mounting holes. (It might have been nice to have a place to attach a safety, but that's not a dealbreaker.) Every electrical connection is well-labeled, so you don't need the manual to know how to wire or address it. The range of voltages is nice, since I commonly see both 12V and 24V LEDs. The only gripe I have is that they used 3-pin XLR, instead of standard 5-pin. I guess all cheap DMX gear uses 3-pin. I don't know why, and it's annoying, but that's what you get unless you want to spend a lot more. Also, the built-in effects are useless, and the device would be simpler without them, but I guess every DMX decoder needs junk like that for demos or whatever.

Weird electrical issue with 12v power supply
Have a weird issue where the power cuts out when lights are connected to the last 4 ports. Using one 200 watt power supply to drive 80 watts of lights. On my voltage tester all the ports have power until one of the last 4 ports is plugged in with a light and then the voltage reads 0. Was great dimming for the first 4 ports but very confused by this current issue and not can't do my project that this was for.

Muy bien el decoder cumple muy bien con lo que promete

Works as advertised, but watch voltage
Power supply not included. Be sure you use LED strips that are 12v as the unit uses the same voltage/power supply as it uses to send power to the LED strip. (i.e. you can't power the decoder on a different power supply than the output.)
