Great Resource for intermediate and Advanced VBA
I was excited to see this book covers material about VBA programming that took me months of research on my own to aquire the same knowledge. The first part of the book covers the basics, however it's more of a review than a beginners guide. The rest of the book dives into the meat of VBA programs, handling errors, and debugging. The end part of the book covers the integration programming between applications and object models to use for each. Having this all in one book makes this a valuable resource. Just what I was looking for!

The only comprehensively written book about VBA
Even just for Excel VBA, this is the only comprehensively written book for programming VBA. The reason for 4 stars is that the book needs improvement. It is not written as concisely as possible, which causes unnecessary time spent on reading and is not good in the modern world where time is critical . For example, after the array variable with fixed dimension size well described already, it uses too many lines to describe the dynamic array. It should be simply stated that a dynamic array has no predefined dimension size. Same thing happens in other places too as it takes more than 100 pages to describe how to use the IDE, for which the author should check Microsoft's website that presents IDE clearly in a simpler way. Hope in future editions the author can use as few words as possible to precisely describe the same thing and make the font a little bigger. The font in this book is noticeably smaller than usual. Anyway, thanks to the author for the book.

Handy VBA manual
It’s a great catalogue of VBA codes needed to develop macros.

A solid introduction but not "advanced" as advertised
I bought the book with the intention of expanding my understanding of VBA. While it did teach me some things, I kept reading thinking it would get to more advanced concepts until I finally skimmed forward to validate what I was starting to suspect. The book is definitely a solid introduction to VBA with some intermediate concepts presented, but the description mentions intermediate to advanced concepts. Even the title implies an in depth coverage of VBA topics to an advanced level, but that would be a stretch to say the least. For example, he spends time going over loops, recording macros, if statements, data types, etc.; but when he does talk about the Word object model, it felt more of a surface level treatment. What is there is well presented and that he spends detailed steps going over individual lines of quite a few macros. That step-by-step analysis would have helped at a higher level, but it just does not make it past the intermediate level in my opinion, and it spends a lot of time on beginner topics.I might have purchased it anyhow if it had been presented correctly, but as written, I was disappointed with the content.

Good for beginners but hard to follow.
Good concepts but better visuals and higher quality printing could make this a much easier book to learn something new from. Also, could be more like a textbook that tests the reader at the end of each chapter to provide a better understanding of the concepts and skills taught.
