Teaching Writing: Balancing Process and Product (6th Edition) (Books by Gail Tompkins)

I actually enjoy this textbook. It's one of the most useful, practical, and applicable for me as a future teacher. I had another one by Gail Thompkins in a previous semester too, and it was just as useful.It's not a boring read, the subjects & ideas are divided well & easy to digest. It actually has fun to read vignettes and classroom ideas in it. I get through it quick and it's not a chore to slug through assigned reading.Boo to Pearson for the dang price hike on these though.

This book was required by one of my graduate classes. Apparently, I had just rented the book and after the class, the book disappeared from my on-line books. This book was so beneficial in helping me put together my Writer's Workshop, that I purchased a copy so that I could have it as a reference. Goes great with 6 + 1 Writing Traits.

So, who doesn't struggle when it comes to writing? Gail is an amazing teacher! Read her book and find out how she addresses writing! I love her books, especially this one, since one of my main areas of interest is writing and how to do a better job!

Easy to read format. Had to use this book for a Graduate Level Education class. Not too bad as far as Master's texts goes.

Great buy for a college student purchase to save money! Book was good and I actually kept it instead of selling it.

Usefull treatment of teaching the various styles. Poetry section presented too many styles. Does not sufficiently address ELLs or students with disabilities.

Great book for school

This more than anything has revamped my writing curriculum in the classroom. Entirely useful. Process and Product. Worth the read.
