Decent but quality could be better.
I purchased this bass, not from amazon but used. I have had the bass for a few years and noticed that it does have a very clear, sharp tone. It is a very bright sounding bass so I often roll the treble almost all the way off. The output is very powerful and so I keep the bass eq in the middle position. I like the feel for the most part but the neck to me is a little too thin, I have wonderderd if this contributes to tuning stability. I have the D'Adarrio flat wounds on it and it still sounds fairly bright. The person before me must have had round wounds on the bass because you can see small grooves worn into the fingerboard material (mostly just cosmetic). The biggest problem I have with the bass is that the bridge has actually bent up away from the body of the bass by about 3 mm. This appears to be that the metal of the bridge material cannot support the tension of the strings, as if the metal is cheaply made. I have contacted Ibanez about this but I did not register this bass waranty as I am not the original owner. The string spacing on the bass is very narrow and this may take some getting used to for some. This bass requires finesse much more than agressive playing.Peace.
