Genki: An Integrated Course in Elementary Japanese, Workbook 2, 2nd Edition (Book & CD-ROM) (English and Japanese Edition)

My son used the series when he took Japanese at the local junior college while in high school. The text, workbook and CD are a well designed combination.It is a bit more elementary than when I took the same courses at UC Berkeley a couple of decades before my son, with less emphasis on Kanji, reading and writing and more on conversation, so pedagogically I would say it gives less of an academic foundation than the texts we used (written by Profs. Motofuji and Brennan, now out of print), but it is fine for junior college-level Japanese.

This workbook seriously reinforces the lessons taught in the textbook, an absolute must for either the self-learner, or if you are using the textbook for a class.

The text book is great for study groups it has a lot of material to work from, it comes with a CD though I wish they would have some kind of online file because a lot of lap tops now a days do not have CD Slots anymore ....

This is my textbook for my Japanese 201 and 202 at college. It's a decent enough textbook, but it can be a little hard to follow without my teacher's guidance. Would probably be okay for self-study, but would take longer since it's not super clear on some things. Some of the vocab or verbs are also not commonly used in conversation (although, technically still correct). These are some things I wouldn't know unless my native Japanese teacher didn't tell me. Genki is also nice because it has apps for vocab and kanji for iOS or Android. I just wish they were included with the books and not separately charged.

I use this for my college class

I had to buy this for my Intermediate Japanese class and it's a pretty good workbook since there aren't that many Japanese workbooks out there. It's pretty much your standard workbook.I also have the older version of the book, so it compliments it nicely; it's pretty similar to the new edition (almost the exact same), so it should help you get by in your Japanese class.Unrelated to the book, the only problem is trying to find the answers for the work book :\

Book is excellent for those who read kana and have Japanese fundamental skill. I am using it to refresh my Japanese for a trip there in the Spring. Audio helps me retune for ear for Japanese inflection. Highly recommend

Genuine quality and authenticity, as proven by the Japanese receipt wedged in between pages in the middle. Nearly perfect if not for a few minor scratches on the front cover. It complements the Genki II textbook amazingly, like cheese and pizza, which was expected of course. In other words, it serves as an effective way to reinforce all the concepts learned from the Genki II textbook. As long as you have a passion for Japanese, this will not be a waste!

The book is good. I use it for the 2nd year of my Japanese lessons.

This goes for the Genki 1 and 2 workbooks.Practice is always good. But In my opinion, just taking all of the grammar into flashcard form with an app like Anki is more than enough. After seeing so many times through the flashcards, it becomes as easy to recall as if you were to spend time just hammering away at conjugation tables and whatnot.So simply, if you enjoy the practice, buy it. If you don't, or want to save money, make your own workbook using flashcards.

No answers included so you cannot check if you answer correctly. Many questions are overlapping with the ones in the textbook so not sure if it really worth buying this practice book. I think it's better to buy different practice book with answers attached.

Bought a used book so expected a few marks here and there. But, the book is very neat. Thank you.
