WoodOwl 09706 Tri-Cut 9/16-Inch by 7-1/2-Inch Ultra Smooth Auger Bit

I drilled 15 - 3/4” holes in my woodworking bench. The bench has two 3/4” plywood sheets as a top. After 10 holes I hit a screw. The bit kept on making clean holes with no problems.The bit is extremely sharp. Had I not hit a screw it would have kept going for many more holes. I took a file to the cutting edges and touched up the burrs left from the encounter with the wood screw.For what I paid for it the bit is a good value. It comes with a black coating and it makes for a smoother cut. It is packaged very well and the plastic tube will protect the bit from damage rolling around in my drill bit drawer.The dogs work perfectly in the 3/4” holes. The stops are snug in the new holes but should expand with use.I made a block of wood with a 3/4” extra long bushing to guide the drill bit perpendicular to the bench top. The bit slid through the bushing perfectly.I couldn’t be more pleased how the holes turned out.

Love this bit, I used it to drill hole in my portable mini work bench.

Bought this for a specific project on a recommendation from a Review on the other item. Glad I did, cuts fast, cuts clean. Just be careful, it will pull you through the wood quickly. After I used it on my project I had contractors at my house remolding my kitchen. I saw one of the workers trying to use a spade bit to bore holes for electrical. I went and grabbed this bit and handed to him and told him to try it. He was in awe how well it worked and cut his time down. Now I just need my commission for selling a whole construction crew on these bits lol

It drills very smooth, effortless 3/4 inch holes for an auger bit. I was drilling holes in a 6” thick hardwood work bench top. I tried a brad point, Irwin speedbor auger, and the wood owl. The wood owl outperform all of them. I was surprised it did better that the brad but the brad took a lot of force to push without a drill press and wasn’t as smooth a cut in the end. I wish I had started with the wood owl. The hex shank is a littler larger than the standard 1/4” but it works as a round shank as well, which is how I used it. Fantastic bit.

I was drilling 2" maple with a 3/4" drill, and a lot of them. First I tried with a forstner bit and it was slow and a lot of effort. Then I bought this drill bit and I couldn't believe how quickly and effortlessly I could drill through. So easy I added additional holes in my work bench top. The holes were clean and neat. Even the wood chips it made were nice looking and consistent. 6 stars, ☆☆☆☆☆☆. Nicest thing I have bought in a long time.

I owe several bits but this one is just amazing. Cuts like a knife a very sharp one. I will be buying different sizes.

These bits cut cleanly and accurately with no tearing of the wood on entry. The inside of the holes are clean and smooth. I've used the bit on pine, maple, birch, and other woods.They also take less effort to turn than a typical bit. Would highly recommend this product.
